Armageddon (1998)
A very impressive movie
I know that this movie has not been very appreciated, but I would like the same to tell a few words in order to defend it. I just say : has this movie kept you nailed on your chair ? Has your heartbeat increased during some sequences? I'm sure it had, so the movie has reached its target and so it's a good movie. Surely the plot is very simple and full of mistakes or absurd things, but it's one of those movies to be watched on big screens, better if with THX, that gives you a great experience. One last thing : did someone notice that the structure of this movie is very close to "The Rock" ?
Wild Things (1998)
Never trust anyone !
I thought it would have been just a show of beautiful actors and actresses, but it isn't so. A very nice plot completely unpredictable; a good modern thriller. However the actresses are really wonderful. It's 7 out of 10 for me.
Nati con la camicia (1983)
Probably the last Spencer&Hill's good movie
It' funny. It's like they have always been. It's Spencer and Hill as secret agents (even if they don't want to). It's a satire on CIA. The movie is very enjoyable.
Extreme Prejudice (1987)
A modern day western
Here is what you can expect from a Walter Hill's movie. Many shootings and old Mexican landscapes. An unusual Nick Nolte, a good cast and an interesting plot make the whole thing OK. A not-to-loose movie for Hill's fans and a good movie for all the other ones.
Last Dance (1996)
Death sentence: good or not?
This movie is an attack to death sentences, it shows how these ones can be cruel and how someone can change after understanding his own mistakes. The idea is good but not the realization: this movie is slow and boring. But here there is a very lovely Sharon Stone: here she shows to be a very good actress, beside being a very very beautiful woman. Conclusion: just watch it on TV.
Mask (1985)
A very good movie
This movie is unique. Everybody must see it. It is very sentimental, but it is not exasperated. Great Cher, great Eric Stoltz, great Sam Elliot. This movie makes you laugh, makes you cry, makes you think about the lucky aspects of life and the unlucky ones. One of the most striking aspects is that good feelings are found in an environment that most people think is bad: a young ex-drug addict mother, a group of motorcyclists. I will not tell you what is Mask, I just tell you he is a normal guy except for a difference: find it by your own, you will be satisfied. Surely a good movie.
Willow (1988)
A very good fantasy movie
Willow is one of my favourite fantasy movie. If you don't like Val Kilmer, watch this movie: you will love him. This movie is full of funny characters that make you appreciate it and it is filled with special effects that make this fantasy world seem real. Watching this movie made me think about the importance of trusting oneself: even such a little man as Willow without any magical skill can be powerful. Also the importance of trusting who is very different form us: every kind of people contributed to the final goal, in this movie: men, small men, dwarfs, old magicians.For these reasons I think that this movie is very good for children and young guys... and not only.
No Escape (1994)
if you can, watch it.
What can I say about this movie: it is not one of the best movies of my life, but I will surely remember it. I enjoyed it because the plot keeps you watching the TV and the characteristic that most struck me was that it is unforeseeable: you say:"now it will go on in this way..." but "this way" will not happen. This movie could be identified as a mix between Mad Max 3 and 2043: The Fortress (I hope the original title be this). I prefer Mad Max, but surely this movie is better than Costner's Waterworld. My conclusion is: don't spend money to rent this movie, but if it is on Tv, and you don't know what to do in the evening, watch it, you will enjoy it.
