Unfaithful (2002)
Surprisingly good
When I saw "Fatal atractions" in 1999 I didn´t see why everyone seems to think that film is sooo good. I think this one is much better. Better acting from Richard Gere than from Michael Douglas. I also think that Diane Lane made a very solid performance. The music was very very good. Especially in some of the final scenes where Edward is sitting with his son by the piano.
Flaws?? hmm, perhaps why Diane Lane´s character seems to be so intrested in the Paul Martel-charcter. I think he was very disgusting the whole film.
another flaw that is more serious is that it´s going too slow from time to time.
RATING: 7 out of 10
+ = Richard Gere, Diane Lane, Music, Envirements - = tempo & parts of the story

The Point Men (2001)
great idea, poor result!
I have seen most of Christopher Lamberts movies. I have several favourites like "Highlander 1-3" (of course, Resurrection, Fortress and "The Hunted". I think that "Fortress 2" wasn´t that good, so I really was looking forward to this movie. Lambert plays the agent Tony from Israel(!), he is hunting a terrorist with his group. They kill a guy, who they think is the terrorist but Tony is sure that they have killed the wrong dude. One by one the terrorist (with his new plasticsurgery-face) kills Tonys groupmembers. It´s easy to understand what will happen next. The filming is like they have made the film with a handycam. It is very low-budget-style when they have their carchase in the beginning of the film. Lamberts performance is very solid and I really hope that he will find a better script, because the other film he has made this year also became a sad story for us Lambert-fans. We want you back in the parts that made you the one you are today. Like in "Knight moves", "The Hunted" or "resurrection". It doesnt have to be a fantastic story like in "Beowulf" or "Mortal Kombat" but something that you can understand and still is very exciting. I can not say other than that this movie was a cheap try to make a political thriller. 4 / 10
American Psycho (2000)
best film of 2000!!!
wazup... i´ve been reading the book american psycho and was very happy when I first heard that it would be a movie based on the boojm and that Christan Bale was casted as Pat Bateman. Then I heard that Leonardo Dicaprio was casted and I almost fainted. He was not man enough to play a serial-killer with his baby-face. Then (thank god), Bale was again casted and the movie came out. First of all, I can only see 2 people do that part. 1. Christian Bale and 2. Christian Slater. They are both cool and can perform well in a part like that but I think that Christian Bale was perfect. My favourite scene was definitely when he played "hip to be square" and killed Paul Allen with an axe in the livingroom and then smokes a cigarette with blood in his face. The movie is very hard to explain since it is a story of a very strange man :-) But I think that the movie was even better than the book, which I thought wasn´t possible. Willem Dafoes part seems to have been cut down and that´s perhaps the only reason why I does not give it a 10... Best film of 2000!!! 9/10 andy olzon
Forrest Gump (1994)
probably the best film ever
the very touching story about Forrest Gump is in my eyes the best motion picture ever by 4 reasons.
1. the story about Forrest journey down through the centuries is a wonderful story with loneliness, happiness and sadness. I dont think that any other movie can top that.
2. tom hanks - this is his best part ever. i normally dont like hanks very much but this time i just cant say anything else than he was perfect in the part. only a young robert de niro could have done it this good, and perhaps not even him.
3. the music - alan silvestris scores big time this time with his music. what more is there to say.
4. gary sinise - my all-time favourite actor had his big breakthrough in this movie the same year as he did the mini-serie "the stand" and he was this year nominated for the oscar fo this part. he is perfect as dan taylor and i think that he should have won the oscar.
Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999)
just what I expected...
An advantage with a film is not to know the plot from start to finish. I mean, at least 99,9 % of those who watched the film knows that Anakin Skywalker will soon become the evil Darth Vader. I think that they have to do something different the next time and not think that the people will just come because of the first three parts. And i surely hope that Samuel L Jackson will be a bigger part of part 2. I think that Ewan McGregor and Liam Neeson were the only good thing with this film.
The special-effects surely is great but you cant base the movies story on special-effects and I think that George Lucas is making these three extra-films to earn some fast money without thinking about the movies story or acting. Nathalie Portman is one of the worst actresses I´ve ever seen since Sophia Coppola in Godfather part 3, she is so wrong in the queen-role. An actress like Christina Ricci would have been much more believable in such a important part, but I think that we just have to see Portman in two more films. And for heavens sake, dump C3PO and R2D2, they were almost funny in the first film from 1977 but since then they are... I cant find words for it...
Shaft (2000)
sam "the man" is THE man
I saw this film three days ago at the local cinema and I knew before the film that Sam Jackson was a cool fellow but now he is more than that. He is an icon for coolness. I mean, who else can you see doing this part. 1.)Will Smith (don´t make me laugh). 2.)Wesley Snipes (I like Wesley but sorry man). 3.)Denzel Washington (now we are talking stoneage). 4.)Ving Rhames (well...no)
In the other parts there are deffenitely some misstakes. I don´t think Vanessa Williams qualifies as an actress and Chrsitian Bale is not exactly my first choice as a villain. I would have taken a better actor like Gary Sinise, Kevin Bacon or why not Clancy Brown from Highlander.
The soundtrack is the same from the first film except for some cool remixes. Singleton is a great director and he shows that with this movie. I was afraid that Sam was gone, when he made "Deep Blue Sea" but now he is back and I´m just looking forward to see "Unbreakable"
Highlander (1986)
This IS the one!!!
Highander is in my opinion the best movie ever made by several reasons. 1. Christopher Lambert - he is great as Connor and I can´t see anyone else perform like him in the role... 2. Queen - the powerful music by Freddy & c:o is perfect for this powerful film and "A kind of magic" is fantastic... 3. Clancy Brown - He sure is mean... Neither Michael Ironside or Mario van Peebles were half as good as Brown in the sequels... 4. The story - I just love the story of this movie, it´s unique and I think that it´s the major reason why I think so good of this movie.
I can go on like this all night but I hope that you all will see this movie someday and perhaps share my opinion of this masterpiece... Highlander:Endgame will not come to the cinemas in Sweden and I think that it is a shame because I just can´t wait to see if Lambert will lose his head or not in the end...
A Perfect Murder (1998)
Great thriller...
This is a very exciting movie. The actors are great especially Michael Douglas who is perfect as Steven Tyler who wants his wife dead and hire her lover (Viggo Mortensen) to kill her.But something goes wrong and now Steven doesn't control the situation anymore. It´s almost as good as Hitchkock's first movie which this is based on. James Newton-Howard's music is also good.
I´m not a fan of Gwyneth Paltrow but she is actually rather good in this movie. I didn't like her parts in Emma and Sliding Doors. Viggo Mortensen is very good as David Shaw who Steven hires to kill his wife. David Suchet is great as the suspicious cop who doesn't trust Steven when everybody else thinks that he is a good guy.
You can watch this movie and afterwards you just can't let it go out from your head. Michael Douglas has found his right style in this kind of movies.Wall Street,The Game and this one is perfect examples of a great Douglas-film.OK he was also good in Falling Down and Fatal Attraction but this Douglas is much better.
The rate is:7.5 out of 10
Message in a Bottle (1999)
Give Costner the Academy Award!
I saw this film yesterday.I think that this is one of the best movies I´ve ever seen.I mean the story is almost perfect. Costner deserves the oscar after his perfect role as Garret. He really makes the audience believe that Garret is the perfect man good looking, nice and generous. Great acting by Costner,Robin Wright-Penn and Paul Newman who is perfect as Garrets cranky father. This one is one of my all time favourites and I give it 9 of 10.
Tin Cup (1996)
Hole in One Costner!
The perfect romantic comedy has been made. It has got the perfect story. Kevin Costner plays the retired golf-player Roy McAvoy. One day he meets Molly Griswold (Rene Russo).Unfortunately she is involved with Roys "friend" David Simms (Don Johnson). To make Molly believe that he is better than David he is going to win US Open. Costner,Russo and Johnson are all great. But best of them all is Cheech Marin who plays Roys caddie Romeo. Many real Golf-pros have cameos in the movie. It's got a great soundtrack. Before I watched this movie I´d hated golf but afterwards I really like it.
the rating is:8.5 of 10
Ransom (1996)
Great Acting,Great Story,Great Movie
This is a great movie.Three of my favourite-actors are in it.They are:Mel Gibson,Gary Sinise and Delroy Lindo. They are all great. The director Ron Howard is one of the best directors and in this movie you see why.Nick Noltes son Brawley plays Gibsons son who has been kidnapped by Sinise.Rene Russo is also good as Gibson's wife. Her best role was in Tin Cup.But this one is almost as good. This film is really exciting and I can really recommend it.The ratings are 7.5 of 10
Der Bergdoktor (1992)
The best series ever made and I truly mean it
I love this series, absolutely adore it and its characters. I have it all on video and I watch it over and over again. I have visited the Sonnenplateau in Austria where they film the series. It,s the prettiest place on earth. So fortzetsen sie bitte mit den Dreharbeiten in Wildermieming.Es schenkt so viele Leute so viel Spass und Unterhaltung.
Cocktail (1988)
Actually not as bad as they say!
This is a nice movie with great acting and nice music to go with it. I must say I really liked this film. The highlight in the movie is the waterfall-sequence.Tom Cruise is always good,Elisabeth Shue is very good and Bryan Brown is great as Douglas. Many well-known faces like Gina Gershon and Kelly Lynch have small parts. It´s like The Color of Money but cocktails instead of Poole. Rating:6.5 of 10
Breathless (1983)
Very good!!!
A very good movie with some very good things. For example:
Richard Gere is excellent as Jesse LuJack.
Great soundtrack.Elvis Presle'ys Suspicious Minds and Jerry Lee Lewis Breathless are both perfect for this film.
The story is great. OK I know that its get from A´bout de sufflé but I think that the american version is better than the french.
There is only 1 thing which is bad with this movie.Valerie Kaprisky is NOT good as Monica.
But it's a very good movie and the points is 7 of 10
Scam (1993)
Great because of Christopher Walken
This film was a great TV-film. Great acting by Christopher Walken (as usual) and Miguel Ferrer. Lorraine Bracco was OK. This film had many surprises. It was entertaining all the time. Great film for a night at home.Great acting, great story and as I said many surprises make this movie to a very good one. If Christopher Walken would not have taken this role I think Chazz Palmintieri or perhaps Mel Gibson should have been good as Jack Shanks.
Broken Arrow (1996)
Great
The movie is great.Travolta is perfect as Vic Deakins. But it looks like Christian Slater is a little bit lost.He doesn't fit in in action-films.He was great in Robin Hood and Interview with the vampire.OK True Romance was great but this and Hard Rain are not the best Slater-films.Samantha Mathis is NOT believable in her role.Delroy Lindo is good (as usual).John Woo and John Travolta seems to be a great combination.Face/Off is also a very good movie.I think that Woo is gonna make "Mission:Impossible 2".Travolta makes it cool to be crazy. I think that Keanu Reeves would be better as Riley Hale. But if you like Slater see True Romance it´s a hell of a good movie. The music by Hans Zimmer is excellent.
The Thin Red Line (1998)
What happened to John Travolta
I saw this movie tonight and I just came home. Afterwards I think that the only person who could have saved this movie John Travolta just disappeared after 2 minutes. The movie could need his acting-style to break the boringness of this movie. Nick Nolte and Sean Penn are both good in this movie but sometimes you could think this is a swedish film with staring faces and poetic language. George Clooney said maybe 2 lines. I don't think that this movie should be nominated for best picture. Perhaps for best photography. Now I hope that Travolta can show his talent in Primary Colors and A Civil Action. He´s one of the best actors ever and I´m really disappointed tonight. I mean they could really give him more than 2 minutes.
Saving Private Ryan (1998)
Good but not an Oscar-winner...
If this movie wins the Oscar for best picture, I´m never gonna watch the academy-show again. I think it is a typical Tom Hanks-movie.He says maybe 10 lines. And he is nominated for best actor. I´m not saying that Tom Hanks is a bad actor. I loved Forrest Gump and Apollo 13. This movie is good but I think that "The Thin Red Line" is a better war-movie. The ratings for this movie is just 6.5 of 10.
In & Out (1997)
Great comedy!!!
This is a perfect comedy. Great acting by Kevin Kline, Matt Dillon, Joan Cusack and Tom Selleck. I also think that there are some moments in the movie when you don't know if you gonna laugh or if you gonna cry. It is 7 out of 10.
Get Shorty (1995)
A classic
This one is one of my favourites. Many good actors as John Travolta, Gene Hackman, Danny DeVito and Rene Russo. I´ve seen this movie about 15 times. If you havent seen this movie do it now. Delroy Lindo is great as Bo the bad-guy. There are 2 bad-guys in this movie but Ray Bones is more like the funny man. Travolta is very very good as Chili Palmer. He got the golden globe for this role. Harvey Keitel has a very little role in the end. This one is a classic. No question about that. It is 8 of 10.
The Negotiator (1998)
If you like Jackson you gonna love this movie
This is a one man show.If you like Samuel L Jackson you gonna love this movie. If you don´t I´m not so sure.I saw this film on the cinema a couple of weeks ago.I thought it was great.Samuel and Kevin Spacey are both great.David Morse is also good as the confused SWAT-leader.I also think that it was a little bit to long, and sometimes it´s hard to follow. It´s 7.5 of 10. Just because I àm a great fan of Samuel L Jackson.
Everyone Says I Love You (1996)
it´s so bad
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH This film is a joke. It´s so bad.I turned it off after 15 minutes. The worst thing I have ever seen.Woody Allens movies use to be rather good but this is a really stinky thing. Throw it away.
The Crow (1994)
Boring
It´s a pity that Brandon Lees last movie became a mess like this.I think this movie is boring. It´s so dark sometimes that you can´t see anything. The only thing that is good with this movie is Michael Wincott who plays the bad-guy.I like this kind of movie but this is not one of my favourites. It´s only 4 of 10.
Needful Things (1993)
good,nothing more
This is a good horror-movie nothing more and nothing less. The swede Max von Sydow is great as Leland Gaunt.I read the book before I watched the movie. The book was much more Stephen King than the movie. Many good actors like Ed Harris,Bonnie Bedelia,Amanda Plummer and J.T Walsh make this movie better than other similar films. It is 6.5 of 10.
Everybody Wins (1990)
not that bad
Everybody I know say that this is a horrible movie.I can´t understand why.Good story, good acting by Nick Nolte and Debra Winger.OK it is not a masterpiece exactly but you can watch the whole movie and afterwards think about it for 1 hour or so.
