Jury Still Out
When I first watched Blackish I felt the same as I did watching Family Reunion. It was ok. I really hated the title "Blackish". But after many episodes the acting got better and it's one of my favorites now. I think the same will happen with this series. If you keeps watching you'll see the actors become better as the get use to working with each other. In comedies timing is everything and you can see the improvement from the 1st episode and episode 5 & 6. I'm enjoying the series hope they get to do a second season. One question? Who are the people at the end of each episode? The dedications.

Cute family show
Very cute family show. I enjoyed watching with my husband and son
Better than expected
Besides the some what comical yet immensely corny jokes, this show is in fact informative. Bring attention to a beautiful black family. Informing us about black figures we tend to shut the door to. As well as addressing obstacles in the black community. The message behind the show out shines any of its flaws.
Love it
Family Reunion is a great funny show highly recommend it!

Cheesy, But Good for Families
The show is very predictable and a little corny, but we thoroughly enjoy watching it with our nine-year-old daughter. There aren't many shows on television that African-American families can enjoy together. Black-ish used to be one of them, but the content became a little too mature. This show makes us laughs and has several teachable moments.
I recommend it for families looking for something they can enjoy together. We hope they continue with several seasons.

Great!!
Very good show that shows how a black family is. From the jokes to how we act. It's amazing. Reminds me of other shows like Family Matters or The Bill Cosby Show. Love it! Definitely worth a watch!!

From meh to annoying
Finally!!
Thank you for finally providing a family show that everyone can watch without having your finger on the paise or fast forward button. I love it!!
Super cheesy over the top corny sweet family show
If you are expecting This is Us or The Ozarks you will obviously be disappointed. This show is lightweight with over the top exaggerated acting which I suspect is on purpose. It reminds me of a Nickelodeon or Disney Channel kids show.
If you want complex dialogue, great intense acting and controversy this show isn't for you.
HOWEVER-
It is sweet. It is clean. It is safe. The whole family can watch it. They model/preach universally taught values such as honesty, hard work, love etc...
It has a couple actresses that are beloved. I think society has gotten away from the classic lightweight family sitcom. Shows like Family Matters, Silver Spoons, Punky Brewster etc are just not abundant anymore. This seems to be in a similar vein but is a little too over the top to be taken seriously. But many shows have rocky starts the first season, I suggest giving it a chance and seeing where they go with it.
If nothing else it will be something to laugh about with your friends and family later this week.
I give it a solid 7 out of 10 because despite all I just said, by episode 7 I found myself starting to be invested in the characters and it is a great show to have on in the evening while I'm making dinner and our kids are in the living room.

Interesting fact
The theatre shown in S1E4 is The Mount Baker Theatre in Bellingham, Washington. I used to work there. It's a long way from Georgia! Easy watching show, if a little trite.
I WANT to give it 10 of 10 :(

Not bad
The stories are nice, however you want to see it even if it often touches absurd situations. It still remains pleasant. I'm a little tired of seeing everyone perfectly rigged and with perfect hair, cool clothes even in the house. I mean, okay it's a TV show, but a little bit of realism, come on.

Political Correctness on Steroids
Would be good if it didn't try so hard to be politically correct. Ridiculous

Hilarious show with some great history and appropriate issues brought up
Really enjoyed this show from the start so hilarious covers their family history of how there ancestors battled slavery and racism. Then in their generation still having to deal with racism too really brings some home truths this show and how we should accept and respect everyone no matter what.also treating them equal as well ten out of ten for this show looking forward to a season 2.

Great Show! Needs some changes.
I really like the characters and the actors are very cute, clever, and it's midly funny. However, I wish they would chill out on the religion a bit, its over the top! Otherwise, I like the goofy, quirky sense of humor of the show. It's about time a series came out like this without all that religion.
Anything with a laugh track needs to die
This show is so unbelievably unfunny. It's just straight up bad. Don't watch it.

I love this show
How refreshing it is to watch a show I can relate to and that my son can learn from. The old school values that are represented in this show make me so happy. I'm on my late 30's but the teachings, lessons, and traditions are what we need to see regardless of ethnicity. This show really makes my heart smile and thanks for sending the message that African American women should embrace their natural beauty/hair 😊

Give it some time.
The first ep doesn't do the show justice. I got through just one ep and then gave it a one star review.
A few more eps in today and I've revised that decision. I still think there are certain characters that carry the show (namely the two young boys), but others seem to be settling into their characters as the shows goes on.
Give it a few eps and then see how you feel.

Extremely disappointed and offended
Honestly, it started out funny. Then it got really insensitive and portrayed Christians in an extremely negative light. It was not just a couple of jokes, it spanned for episodes. The writer definitely had a motive to portray all Christians as hypocritical, brain washed, and out dated. Inconsiderate and cruel is what I found this series to be.
