Triumphant tear-jerker!
#FinalVerdict
Few filmmakers stick their necks out to tell difficult stories. For their intentions alone, Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP Movies & Roy Kapur Films deserve a thumbs-up. Take a bow, Shonali Bose!
Some films are more than just cinematic expressions and The Sky Is Pink is one such film where director Shonali Bose has worked herself to the grind & her presence is felt in every frame. Her devotion and dedication towards her craft is truly inspirational. The Sky Is Pink is special in more ways than one. In my individualistic opinion, it easily ranks amongst this year best works so far. Just don't miss this one!
Clearly, the writing (Shonali Bose & Nilesh Maniyar) is smart, taut and absorbing. Kudos! The emotions in The Sky Is Pink would've fallen flat had the writing been sub-standard or the execution of the material been humdrum or the actors been inferior. But, thankfully, it scores in all three departments. All said and done, it's an outstanding film!
The story is complex but The Sky Is Pink is *not* disheartening or unsettling. The emotional quotient is tremendous. You'll overhear a lot of sniffs & see a lot of moist eyes once the lights are switched on. But it's a positive film & not a rona-dhona movie. Irrespective of how this film performs at the box-office, but note this, director Shonali Bose would be a force to reckon with after The Sky Is Pink. Pritam's music is soothing. Nick Cooke & Kartik Vijay's cinematography is incredible. The very effective and subtle background score (Mikey McCleary1) is The Sky Is Pink's very backbone. For the very first time, I felt that I was not hearing the background score, I was feeling it. Dialogue (Juhi Chaturvedi & Nilesh Maniyar) will touch your soul.
Now to the performances! Farhan Akhtar & Priyanka Chopra make the characters so plausible. It must be said that Farhan Akhtar & Priyanka Chopra exude a certain dignity and elegance, much needed for a sensitive film of this magnitude & caliber. Kudos to them! That doesn't mean that the remaining performances get dwarfed. Not once does Zaira Wasim dither from her position. This is the hallmark of a tremendous actor, which Zaira Wasim is. Rohit Saraf is a revelation, another surprise of The Sky Is Pink. Amazing!
Manas Mittal's editing is so well synchronized that the 2+ hours of your precious life that you would spend on this movie are absolutely worth your while. On the whole, The Sky Is Pink is an amazing experience. Should win awards & also box-office rewards. It should strike a chord with everyone with a heart. An unmissable film which encapsulates the true essence of life & death & seduces the viewer with a strong emotional quotient.

About Life & Love and everything in between
This movie is based upon true events, basically upon a girl's life who's going to live for a short period and the disease is not cancer but a different one which hasn't been shown in any other movies I've watched at least.
The entire film's voice over is given by that girl based upon whom it is made.
I was expecting that this would be about portraying the lives of people, generally about LIFE and it was exactly as I had expected, I don't know why but somehow I like watching people's lives in the feature-length films and mostly because of the way the Bollywood films are made, I'm referring to Farhan Akhtar's sister Zoha but this was made by Shonali Bose and I was not disappointed though as it had the same feeling of watching over the reels of the lives of people living their lives from the start to the end with those more than usual timing of the character's gauging into the eyes of others which is literally like conveying the message across to the other person without even uttering a word, I was thinking that Farhan Akhtar's acting makes me feel that way but I think it is about the maker who gives such intense no-dialogue scenes that conveys something that cannot be interpreted but only is felt.
I wish that Bollywood keeps giving films like these to let their industry keep running, haha.
Good movie, a different concept for a family drama.
Amazing chemistry being shared by Farhan and Priyanka. What a comeback made by Priyanka Chopra after 3 long years in Bollywood, strong acting done by Priyanka and co actors like Farhan ,and zaira also acted amazingly and Rohit Saruf played his role as big brother of ziara was also good , His debut in sky is pink was a dream come true for him and his acting shows that he has a lot of potential. Not everyone will like this movie. 2nd half is a bit draggy.

Lengthy but also heart-wrenching
It felt great to see something out of the ordinary in terms of the recent style Bollywood has adapted to so it was nice to witness a film that felt fresh and not adding to the string of social films in the past few years.
The Sky is Pink is the story of Aditi and Niren Chaudhary over the course of two decades as they cope with their daughter's medical condition which may not allow her to live for too long.
I'm not the type of person that loves dramas. They usually feel very slow and boring as a result. Whilst The Sky is Pink has the same problem, there is some great performances, humour and emotional moments that really tug at your heart strings.
Shonali Bose, known for Margarita with a Straw, writes a heartfelt script alongside Nilesh Maniyar that tries to capture all the sweet and sour moments of the Chaudharys and make us feel the triumphs and struggles of this family. What really brings the film down is its lengthy runtime. A runtime of 2 hours 20 minutes is far too long to present this story and you do feel the film slowing down, even to a point where it starts to get tedious.
The performances throughout are very strong. It's been three years since Priyanka Chopra's last Bollywood movie but she gives a staggering return. I completely understood her character which she portrayed effortlessly. Farhan Akhtar plays a great husband to Chopra and both have great chemistry. It felt believable especially a scene taking place inside a restaurant bathroom where I felt like I was seeing a real couple arguing rather than actors trying to replicate it. Finally, Zaira Wasim did a fantastic job. I genuinely cared about what she was going through and she pulled the role off really well.
As mentioned before, the film did get dull during the second act. I wish the film focused more on the character of Aisha since the movie dedicated way too much time on Aditi and Niren's past. Some scenes didn't have an enough emotional impact on me. You could tell something depressing was happening but you couldn't feel its entire force.
It's nice to see a story like this being told. There are some really sad moments spread throughout that create a huge impact on the audience but the slow pacing may hinder that experience. The performances are really good alongside the heart-wrenching scenes, towards the end, which may or may not bring a couple of tears to your eyes.

Very Poetic & Captivating
The movie takes you on a journey, that will leave a lasting impression on you. Priyanka & Farhan aced their roles, and Zarina brings justice to such a sensitive topic.

a heart warming tale
A young girl suffers from a terminal illness but puts on a brave face - her parents r shattered but they too try to act normal - they let her experience life to the fullest - they encourage her to go on a date with a guy whom she likes - #TheSkyIsPink narrates a heart warming tale but doesnt let the tragedy dominate the proceedings - Priyanka Chopra is excellent n definitely deserves to be seen more often on the big screen - u will like the other actors too - the brother sister bonding is very well depicted - running time should be reduced by 20 minutes - rating 3/5.
Priyanka!!
She is back and with her perfection... Zaira wasim is a great fit for her role..

Beautiful
A beautiful movie that makes you cry and laugh and feel
When you are done you would want a hug
Over dramatic
It is sad though to see someone struggling life between life and death. But, I felt the movie was more dramatic, and stretchy. The background intro from the point of view of Aisha is awesome move, but then Moose/Panda these names confuse you with the characters, everytime I think who is Moose, who is Panda, as I cannot quickly associate with the gender as the short names were confusing.
There was a lot of switch between scenes moving from one time to another time leading to more confusion. The story does not show what does his father do as a job.
Overall - 6/10

A great story but killed with overcooking
The subject is so poignant and the treatment of converting this great human story to movie is so overdone and wasted attempt. The shonali Bose has done a very poor job.
Unnecessary attempts to inject humour everywhere is so unreal and spoils the story. Secondly the movie is stretched to the double time in which the story could have been nicely told. Multiple times during the movie I had to press pause just to check the remaining time to bear.
Watch "Talwar" another real story converted to a movie again from Delhi so much better handled and such pleasure to watch!!
After watching the movie I checked the reviews and I was surprised to see all have blindly rated 10/10 just because this is a tear jerker.

The best i have seen in a long time.
This movie is amazing on so many levels. Go watch it and you wont regret it. Amazing performance from the whole cast, especially priyanka( there is a scene where her character goes through a psychotic breakdown..i cried). It will be worth every penny you spend.

Down and Up
The first half of story is tad boring and looked fake. Comedy scenes were forced and efforts was quite evident.
Most irritating was the background voice narration by a girl, where comedy was forced.
In second half story picks up and you start getting the feel of story.
The best part was end titles where real photos of original family were shown and you connect with the emotions.
On acting front Farhan looked real. Priyanka's performance was on and off and so as Zaira. Character artists played there role with more perfection than leads.

A MUST-WATCH movie with family!
This is a serious movie with powerful message and outstanding performance by Priyanka and Farhan ...This movie can make you smile and cry at the same time!! Such a heartbreaking yet warm film. The Sky Is Pink is a film that understands and breaks down the specifics of grief, unravels the lingering agony of trauma and argues that the fragility of life is precisely what makes it so precious.. A must watch movie.!

boring!!
It's just boring and too unnatural. No entertainment at all.
Above average
"The Sky is Pink"is based on a true story which in itself was very basic and not dramatic at all,and so as a result the story line of the film was also very simple and basic with no twists and turns.
However the performances of Farhan Akhtar and more especially Priyanka Chopra were very very good.Zaira Wasim who's an excellent actress had a very small and unchallenging role which she enacted competently like the others in the movie.
The screenplay, editing, direction and length of the movie were all top notch.
The last part of the movie was quite touching.

Poignant and playful rendering of a real life story
Tsip is a movie thats a beautiful testimony to a couple who work out their marriage inspite of all the tornados that hit their life. Its poignant yet funny. The cast is perfect. The director does a clever job at maintaining the thin balance between an offbeat cinema and mainstream bollywood.a must watch
Zaira Wasim is grt 👍,, plzz come back & dont leave bollywood.
Based on a true story, 'The Sky is Pink' touches an emotional chord from the word go.
As Aisha's (Zaira Wasim) lively voiceover takes over from the start of the film, we are drawn into Aditi (Priyanka Chopra) and Niren's (Farhan Akhtar) life instantly. A life that turns upside down almost right after Aisha's birth.
Soon after she is born, Aisha is diagnosed with SCID, a rare genetic disorder that is life threatening.
Her parents, Aditi and Niren make it their life's mission to do whatever it takes to make her survive for as long as possible.
Priyanka Chopra is remarkable as Aditi, a mom obsessed with making her child live life to the fullest.
Farhan Akhtar as Niren, is okay as the supportive husband and the father.
Zaira Wasim is grt 👍 with her vibrant energy.
Overall, The Sky Is Pink is a heartwarming story narrated with a balanced mix of emotions but Lengthy runtime makes it boring at some points..!!

It was good but.....
Had high expectations from this movie because 1) priyanka's comeback and her acting 2) based on real life story.
One thing is to be agreed here that it was not a typical bollywood movie with overacting, dramatic scenes and songs so yeah...it is different but it is not that type which will hit you emotionally and mentally so hard that it will make you think for days. In simple words it was nice but lengthy. Some scenes were little bit funny and emotional. Actors have done such a good job and director did try to make it sweet and emotional story. I am sure that some people may find it very emotional enough to make them cry but some may find it boring to leave the seat. Overall it was an average movie and for those who are easy to get emotional. For me it was ok but yeah i will always respect Aisha's parents for doing hardwork for their child.

Decent acting but weak screenplay
The performance was decent of the leading cast but the screenplay needed more work. Seemed lengthy and boring
