Being a strong fan of female empowerment, Its unfortunate to see it become less about self empowerment and positive education,, and more about dis-empowering anyone that doesn't fit your background.
Politics in current feminist movements aren't always the same definition as the term feminism itself. At least this is maybe the only valid point the Charmed reboot made to me..
Just because you reference hashtags and trends on twitter doesn't give you any sort of character development. That is what happened here, nothing funny or fierce for me, just dull and aggressive. Being gay or an activist inst exactly groundbreaking character traits, being gay myself I must say its quite presumptuous to simply compare gay to a single character trait or personality.
The CW simply pushes into radical power words that almost make it sound like its fake vegan lesbian actresses on FOX News to gather right wing support. They openly disrespect the original charmed, and arrogantly try to force the fans to embrace this reboot for its trendy "originality".
Self empowering by trying to make everyone else look like the worst version of a possible cliche is not self empowerment., its more of an insecurity, and kind of immature. Clearly this is maybe meant for a more narrow or younger audience.
