Woman didn't want general anaesthesia for the removal of the bullet from her wound, but she wasn't even given a local anaesthetic. Without at least a local anaesthetic, involuntary squirming in reaction to the pain would have made such a precision operation as drilling into the bullet impossible.
When Woman (Hillary Swank) enters the air lock, Daughter makes her put on protective equipment. (suit and respirator(gas mask). When using a respirator, it only filters out the air that its breathed in, the outgoing air is forced through a one way valve. Therefore it will offer no protection if 'Woman' is infected with sort of airborne contaminate, as what she breaths out will not pass through an filters.
The droid or robot, Mother, having only one inset head-mounted visual video camera, and not two (2) or more, for stereoscopic vision and 3D analysis, which might look as a technical design flaw. However, it is never said that this is a visual video camera. It may be just illumination (in addition to the light circle around that opening). Mother, as a robot, may use a lot of other sensors (including infrared, ultrasonic etc) invisible to us, to build a complete 3D picture of environment around her.
When the mysterious woman (Hillary Swank) is initially in the medical bay with Mother, Daughter is outside the closed door and can't hear what they are saying. In a subsequent scene, the door is locked and the woman and daughter on the opposite side freely converse without difficulty.
They are speaking through an intercom. You can clearly hear the intercom turning on and off, and one scene even show Daughter turning the intercom on.

When daughter leaves a origami on the tree bench in the beach, there is strong wind blowing, yet the paper origami did not move.
While everything else in the facility is stark and cold, the set wall behind Daughter is clearly low-grade plywood. Numerous cracks and large knots are visible at 52:25.
The mother's "fingerprint" is necessary to access the unborn and certain critical areas such as storage of dangerous objects, but it is not required to open the door to the outside world, which is as critical and dangerous as other areas.
