Average movie
Watched it because of the high rating, then I realised it was obviously the cast and crew artificially bumping the IMDB score up.
Very average movie all around from actors, casting, premise, dialogue, setting, story progression etc etc
Not worth a watch unless you are really bored!

HEYDAYS IN LOUISIANA
I give this film a max of 4 stars, because its a non-impressive and low cost production, with below average acting cast, a complex plot that is rather simple, but it kills itself because its too slow.
what i really miss from this louisiana based d-riller is the lack of lousiana dialect in the dialouges, not a single person speaks the good ol' southern sway.not even the local police, nor even the hookers or gangsters does.that is a lousy job.
its a film of money, vaccines, poisoning, hookers, fine boats and cars, blood, deceift, crooked police and shadow hals..
whats the 4 stars for? well, nice cinematography and well driven musical score (although not my taste), and some parts of the storys locations are good.
wanna see it again,definately not
You have 24 hours to live, unless the film goes longer

No No No No No
Well guys and gals... I usually only post a review if the film is truly awful or really good, never in between. So to give you a clue, this film was not good at all!! The script was crap, the plot was crap, the jokes were bad, the acting was truly bad. I regret wasting my time watching this rubbish and think it's pretty 'fishy' for it to have a current rating of... wait for it... 7.2 (shock, horror). Something is defo wrong here. Maybe 2.7, but no way 7 point something.
Oh yeah, the accents were crap as well!

No minus ratings on this site.
Gawd what a horrible mess this 'movie' is. After 4 minutes I was hoping everyone died a horrible death. I know I did by watching for six minutes. It has nothing going for it at all. The editing is execrable and the music nauseating. Don't even get me started on the greasy lipstick.
solid indie
Im a fan of the original DOA, the 1950 one. There's nothing like the original really but it kept my interest. I laughed a few times at the bumbling gangsters and DB Sweeney. I thought for an indi it was well done. The swamp shots brought me back... i lived in New orleans for 2 years. Nice camera work and music.

Impressive Bayou country visuals and frenetic pacing subsumed by stock Mafia types and less than clever plot resolution
SEE IMDB EXTERNAL CRITICS REVIEWS FOR THIS FILM
This film caught my attention on my cable provider for on-demand.
So I looked it up on IMDB and checked out the user reviews and noticed some nasty comments about the film. I decided to also look at the external cretics reviews for the film and noticed twice the apposite critical reviews on the film. I checked out the sources behind the critic reviews and they all checked out legit. I saw the film last night and actually enjoyed it very much, so I guess the critics were right about the film and I have no idea why some people are talking nasty about it. I think I It was an entertaining ride.
Decent Watch
Not so original storyline but good cast and funny punchlines.

Mediocre, that's the best way to describe this
If there is one thing certain about the reviews for this movie is that the people that scored it the highest possible are members of the staff that worked on this movie, or at least know somebody that did. Dead On Arrival is just an average movie. The story could have been something if they had put a bit more effort into it. But what brings this movie really down is the acting. Poor if not mediocre, that is the least you can say. The movie starts good though, with some intriguing things happening, but the more you get to the end of it the more you can see that at one point they didn't care that much anymore about making a good movie. So to me it had potential but in the end it failed due to a lack of talent and bad acting.

Intriguing concept marred by a weak script
Dead on Arrival (2017) has an intriguing premise. An innocent man learns he has been poisoned and has less than twenty-four hours to discover who poisoned him and why. This was the premise of D.O.A. (1949), starring Edmond O'Brien, and D.O.A. (1988), starring Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan, and has been used in a few other minor productions.
The original film, which I haven't seen, won several accolades. The 1988 remake received mixed reviews, but I agree with Roger Ebert, who liked it. Unfortunately, DoA suffers from a weak script which repeats the superficial elements of the earlier films, but fails to incorporate the elements that made them memorable. Quaid's Dexter Cornell was poisoned because he knew something of no apparent significance. While searching for the truth, he learns that his life is actually much more intertwined with that of a second victim than he imagined. He must work essentially alone, because he becomes a suspect in a murder investigation, but manages to solve a series of crimes which baffled the police. In his final day of life, he experiences more passion than he had in the prior decade.
DoA has none of these deeper elements. Billy Flynn's Sam Collins is poisoned to advance a sinister plot that doesn't seem to have much chance of success. While the bodies pile up all around him, he has no relationship to most of them, other than having met them briefly the prior evening. He doesn't manage to solve the crime. Instead the dots are connected for him by another character. While there is a suggestion that he might survive the poison, he doesn't grow or mature during his final day.
For a film that seems to have been produced on a modest budget, the production values aren't bad. The actors do as well as can be expected with the material they're provided. The performances are probably the strongest element in a disappointing film.

Beware of Trolls
Good movie. Don't decide to watch solely from reviews. Trolls from competition are negatively reviewing to lower rating. Watch for yourself!
No plot, no nothing.
Seriously, a Youtuber can make a much better movie these days than this useless thing. It is definitely not a movie, it is just a thing. A useless boring one.
Beautiful Scenes
Loved the locations! Man in the boat was probably the most Louisiana relatable character.

Uneven Film.
Is this a must watch? Not really. There are moments where the film redeems itself with good acting and direction directly followed by poorly scripted and questionable scenes. In the end, it made for an uninspiring drama. Too bad. There were some things to be liked, like the plotting. What really destroyed an otherwise "7" film, though, was bad acting. That element is so important to indie films that it could cause a movie to rise from the "Ho-hum" pile to the "Must See" lists. Unfortunately, as prophetic as it seems, "Dead On Arrival" was dead on arrival. Too bad.

SURPRISINGLY GOOD
Caught this last night. The ending didn't sit well with me but other than that I thought it was a good movie. I was actually expecting less. My girlfriend is Armenian, love the Kardashian jokes.

Ehhh
Storyline kind of drags on with too many plot twists, but that also keeps you guessing on who did it. Nice scenery and music.

The film is the real poison!
This film will make you wish that you were dead on arrival!
Low budget, C grade trash!
The acting is bad, really, really BAD!
The story line is lame, unoriginal and as cheesy as it gets!
But most of all, it's painfully BORING!
What was the point of making such lame trash!?
I created an account to vote this movie
It's absolutely awful. Senseless story, aimless protagonist, aimless bad guys and so on and so forth.
