Finally some good news for Jaime Pressly, after Jennifer Falls. The funny lady has been promoted to a regular on Anna Faris’ Mom. That means fans will see more of Jill, who came into play in season 2 as her freshly rehabbed friend. CBS hasn’t shared how they write her in as a regular yet. However, fans can expect more drama and humor from her character during the third season.
Poor Jaime hasn’t had success on TV since her My Name is Earl days. We hope this will change that that for her. She deserves a chance to shine and with this show, it seems like a good fit. I cannot wait to learn more about what we can expect as this current season has been tough. Lots of emotions and drama that is setting up for a very interesting season finale to watch. That may actually explain some of our questions.

There won't be a second season for TV Land's Jennifer Falls sitcom. The cable channel has cancelled the comedy after one season of 10 episodes.

She and her daughter move in with Jennifer's mother Maggie (Jessica Walter) so that she can reassess her life. The rest of the cast includes Missi Pyle, Ethan Suplee, Nora Kirkpatrick, and Dylan Gelula.
This marks the second one-season cancellation by TV Land. Kirstie -- starring sitcom vets Kirstie Alley, Michael Richards and Rhea Perlman -- was dropped in July after a 12 episode run.

TV Land had bad news for lackluster Jennifer Falls, the show that Jamie Pressly so wanted to succeed. TV Land gave the series a good season trial that ended earlier this summer. As expected, fans did not take it to very well as a dorky show that had nothing to offer. The 10 episode season did not perform well in ratings and never brought in the ratings that they had hope it would have. Luckily Pressly is already moving on to CBS’ Mom as a replacement.
We are sad to see the show end. While it was never going to be what TV Land wanted, it could have done better if they played it up right and put more effort into PR for it. However, they appear not to be willing to try that as they already have other successful shows. At least Jaime and the rest of the cast must...

TV Land‘s gimmick of creating new sit-coms that are throwbacks to the style and general effort of those classic shows from the ’80s and ’90s is one that is proving more and more a hit-or-miss venture. What at first seemed a no-fail stroke of genius, has now put out its share of failures, and though it has led to some truly great shows, we’re learning that you can’t always spin success out of the concept.
For every Hot in Cleveland, there’s a Retired at 35. For every The Exes, we get a Happily Divorced. Not that those shows were terrible. They weren’t. They just didn’t work out, and were perhaps not as solid in their construction as the real hits. Now we have Kirstie, which I admit seemed like a good idea on paper, and that one is mostly difficult to watch. This leads us to Jennifer Falls,...

Jaime Pressly has a new series of her own on TV Land and she is excited for it. It is called Jennifer Falls. It will follow the life of a single mom balancing life, working at a bar and her crazy family. It premiers tonight and will be Jaime’s first new TV show since My Name is Earl ended. The show will follow Jaime as she builds her life back up with the help of her daughter (who has her own struggles), her mother and her best friends. Sticking true to TV Land’s originals series, is a comedy.
This show sounds like it has potential. I hope it does well. We need more family based comedies and this seems like a good one that could fill that void. However, I do wish that Jaime landed the show on another network. I don’t think TV Land has the...

How did an inappropriate reference to Kelis‘ “Milkshake” make it into the Scripps Spelling Bee? The event hires comedy writers to keep things lively by writing jokes and pop culture references for the clues. Multiple possibilities are written and, while the “Milkshake” reference was rejected, it ended in the announcers’ cards by mistake.

A study by the Annenberg Public Policy Center found that people who watched The Colbert Report were better informed on campaign finance issues than people who got their news through traditional news sources. Remember this the next time someone laments that people say they get their news from comedy shows.
A&E found another reason for its adaptation of Les Revenants to grab your attention. Kevin Alejandro has joined the cast as the town sheriff.
I hope this turns out to be a better role than Brother Blood.
TBS has ordered a third season of King of the Nerds, according to The Hollywood Reporter. I’m thrilled, King of the Nerds has the best challenges on TV, there should be a spin-off that just reuses old challenges, like the one where competitors fly on brooms trying to land golden snitches into cauldrons.

FX has officially renewed The Americans for a third season. Ratings aren’t great for this terrific show, but apparently FX was able to make it work thanks to DVR numbers and critical praise. Too bad that kind of equation wasn’t able to save Terriers from cancellation.

Barney Stinson‘s catchphrase, “Legend — wait for it — dary” is what linguists call that a “tmesis,” where a word or phrase is interrupted for (usually comedic) effect.

In this wild and wacky season of Archer Vice, Isis matriarch, Malory (Jessica Walter) has endured her role as the plot pusher, but she’s also taken more of a supportive role this season. That doesn’t mean she hasn’t had her set of conflicts to deal with. She is desperately trying to find a way to make money off of the shit-ton of cocaine they have stashed in the Tunt Manor, but it’s dwindling because Pam (Amber Nash) keeps eating it. Now she has been forced her to milk what she can of Cheryl’s (Judy Greer) talents singing country songs as her latest alter ego, Cherlene.
If that’s not enough, Malory has also been dumped by her husband, Ron Cadillac (played by Walter’s real life husband, Ron Leibman), is reminding Lana (Aisha Tyler) of the mistake she has growing in her belly and for...
