Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk became the definitive one for the MCU due to the actor’s incredible performance as Dr. Bruce Banner. The actor replaced Edward Norton after the Fight Club star was found to have meddled too much with the film that Marvel wanted to make in The Incredible Hulk. Starting with The Avengers, Ruffalo has been a franchise regular.

However, since the 2012 film, the character of Banner, as well as the CGI, has gone down in quality. Many have criticized the comedic treatment of the green rage monster in films like Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Endgame, while the Hulk’s CGI in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and Endgame has been considered to be a massive downgrade.
Fans Remember Mark Ruffalo’s Superior Hulk CGI In The Avengers
The Hulk has always been a tough character to crack in live-action.

After the phenomenal success of Deadpool & Wolverine and the recent release of the Disney Plus series Agatha All Along, Marvel seems to be back with the new Thunderbolts* trailer. Finally releasing the trailer that was first screened at this year’s Comic Con, the upcoming film packs many details that eagle-eyed fans have noticed.
One shot in the trailer seems to show an event where Loki’s Sceptre from The Avengers is seen encased. The mind-stone from the scepter is missing but the weapon seems to resemble the staff that he owned in his most beloved appearance. With Thunderbolts* being a team-up of villains, fans speculate if a Loki cameo is in order.

They’re assembling another team.
On Monday, Marvel finally released the first trailer for “Thunderbolts*,” the studio’s forthcoming adventure about the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s rogues’ gallery. (Marvel has been teasing the project since San Diego Comic-Con in July.)
Directed by Emmy Award winner Jake Schreier (“Beef”) with a script previously attributed to Eric Pearson, Joanna Calo (“The Bear”), and Lee Sung Jin (“Beef”) – although how the final credits will shake out is unclear – “Thunderbolts*” brings together several Marvel antagonists, including Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), Red Guardian (David Harbour), John Walker (Wyatt Russell), Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), and Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus). The trailer, using The Pixies’ “Where Is My Mind” and with vibes ripped out of “The Suicide Squad,” teases some nefarious conspiracy and many baddie-on-baddie fight scenes. It's been an interesting couple of months for the Star Wars community. In spite of positive reviews and a strong opening performance with its premiere, fan-favorite series The Acolyte was cancelled due to declining viewership throughout its run. It's a shame for multiple reasons, but it also marks the first of the Star Wars Disney Plus shows to get a definitive cancellation, leaving the future of the characters involved up in the air and that chapter of the galaxy so far, far away unfinished.
The Star Wars saga has expanded ever since the arrival of the Disney Plus streaming service, with successful shows like The Mandalorian and Obi-Wan Kenobi suggesting that the future of one of cinema's biggest movie franchises might be on the small screen. But that's not the case, as there are multiple Star Wars movies still in development - including The Mandalorian and Grogu.

When they battle, superheroes and other comic book characters usually cause a lot of damage. Although the superheroes don’t intend for this to occur, harm and casualties do happen regardless of their wishes. But there are other stories of heroes killing on purpose because it’s the only way they can vanquish their foes and win.
Although “no-kill” policies are embraced by superheroes like Batman and Superman, they are an exception rather than the rule. Superheroes usually don’t think twice about murdering their adversaries, be they monsters, aliens, or something else entirely.
In light of that, we are going to talk about the kill count of a very interesting character, or, more specifically, about the kill count of her version from the MCU. The character in question is Valkyrie, a character who is such a badass that her kill count surpasses that of most of the Avengers.

Nonetheless, after spending 25 years in the industry, Manganiello is finally being recognized. The actor has been cast as Crocodile in the second season of One Piece, a live-action adaptation series by Netflix.

The current generation of anime and manga fans won’t know this, but Katsuhiro Otomo’s Akira was one of the first series to establish the image of the industry all over the world. When Akira first came out, it marked a revolution in the manga industry and became one of the biggest names ever.

Agatha All Along is the MCU’s latest series, serving as a spinoff of the beloved WandaVision. The show went through several title changes before settling on its final name, which is impressive given the numerous rebrandings. It premiered on Disney+ on September 18, 2024, with two episodes, and the remaining seven episodes will be released weekly until November 6.
Initial reviews hinted at an entertaining and engaging experience; however, while the show’s unique charm was evident, critics’ responses were less favorable than expected. In contrast, fans have embraced it, offering high praise.
Fortunately, the early reactions have improved significantly, and the series is currently thriving. One noteworthy moment is a nude scene featuring Agatha, which actress Kathryn Hahn revealed she actually pitched to the writers.

The Multiverse Saga is Marvel's current focus, as the franchise continues to highlight the ever-growing world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It's not just one world anymore, as there are countless out there, highlighted in projects such as Deadpool and Wolverine, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, What If...?, Loki, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and The Marvels.
Although more multiversal heroes are expected to appear after the saga concludes (Hugh Jackman's Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool are expected to stick around), the ongoing story of the Multiverse Saga is indeed expected to bow out in the same way that its predecessor (the Infinity Saga) did; with two giant-sized Avengers movies. Agatha All Along is MCU’s current to-be hit series, and it is a spinoff of the popular series WandaVision, as you probably know. Spoiler Warning: This story discusses plot developments in the first episode of “Agatha All Along,” currently streaming on Disney+.

Although Marvel hasn’t shied away from showing male butt cheeks — Hulk in “Thor: Ragnarok,” Thor in “Thor: Love and Thunder” — Hahn is the first woman to show her bare butt in a Marvel Studios project.

From winning an Academy Award for Jojo Rabbit to becoming the audience’s worst nightmare, Taika Waititi has had a rocky few years. With his first few films, namely Hunt for The Wilderpeople, What We Do in the Shadows, and Thor: Ragnarok, Watiti became a fan-favorite for his uniquely witty and humorous vision. However, after the disastrous performance of Thor: Love and Thunder, fans have become overly critical and skeptical of Waititi’s talents.

The skepticism has gotten to a point where fans are scared to see his name associated with their favorite projects. Although, there’s one project that Waititi has spoken about numerous times over the years. If done right, it has the power to turn the tides in the favor of the filmmaker.

Taika Waititi is best known for his hilarious works, both on-screen and behind the curtains. The actor, writer, and filmmaker has been involved in several hits on the big and small screens. Unfortunately, recent times have not been kind to his stint behind the camera. Thor: Love and Thunder, which was co-written and directed by Waititi failed to garner the expected response.
Another highly anticipated project was an untitled Star Wars movie which has been stuck in limbo since its announcement in 2020. Now his most recent venture, Time Bandits a TV show was cancelled just after the first season. Though this time the reason is more complex and practical, something which might affect the fate of even popular series like The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power.

James Gunn's goal for the DC Universe is to create one shared world that plays out across film, television, animation, and video games (we're still not sure how that would work given how long they take to create).
While the Dcu's official launch will come with next year's Superman, Creature Commandos promises to give fans a taste of what's to come from DC Studios. Gunn has said those characters are going to appear in live-action, something that's been confirmed by Frank Grillo's planned role as Rick Flag Sr. in Superman and Peacemaker season 2.
Talking to ComicBook.com, Frankenstein actor David Harbour was asked about the possibility of bringing that character into a live-action setting.
"I don't know if I'm waiting for the phone call," he admitted. "I mean, I'm not like down by the phone, but no, there's nothing specific yet or at least I haven't heard anything specific.

Hela took a lot of aspects from the members of Thor’s rogues gallery when she was adapted from the comics for the MCU. One such character was Gorr the God Butcher, who would retroactively be revealed as having a connection with Knull, The God of the Symbiotes.

Given that Hela’s weaponry and clothes were very reminiscent of a symbiote, there is a very strong possibility that Knull might have had a connection with the character. Her weapons were also very much reminiscent of Knull’s famed weapon, The Necrosword, which made an appearance later, in Thor: Love and Thunder.

No one can portray Daenerys Targaryen in HBO’s Game of Thrones better than Emilia Clarke, so it’s no mystery why she earned four Primetime Emmy nominations. The Khaleesi is often associated with great female rulers, and it took a lot of hard work and suffering before she attained her royal status.

Cate Blanchett touched down in Toronto for a wide-ranging talk about creative conflict on film sets, making big-budget films “risky,” and why her six-time Oscar-nominated film “Carol” struggled to find funding.
Blanchett, who is at TIFF supporting Alfonso Cuarón’s Apple TV+ show “Disclaimer” and Guy Maddin’s film “Rumours,” was welcomed at the Royal Alexandra Theatre with a standing ovation after fans lined up early to acquire rush tickets to the event.
Early in the conversation, Blanchett talked about her love for performing theater in front of a live audience, leading her to address the “streamers out there” that don’t release viewership data.
“We want the numbers,” Blanchett said. “Not so we know how much money is being made, but we want to know how many eyeballs have been on things that we have made. That’s greatly important.”

Once the premier shared cinematic universe in Hollywood, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has become something of a mixed bag with its recent projects. After reaching its impressive commercial pinnacle with 2019's "Avengers: Endgame," the MCU has struggled to find its way forward with both its television and film projects. From behind-the-scenes problems involving planned recurring characters to an overall lack of focus, the MCU has endured its fair share of setbacks. Critics and audiences have taken notice, with several MCU movies failing to break even at the box office, not to mention earning some of Marvel's lowest Rotten Tomatoes scores.
However, despite all the rocky returns and production issues, the MCU remains one of Hollywood's biggest powerhouse franchises, with some hits up its sleeve beyond "Endgame." In fact, some of the McU's most exciting, fan-favorite moments have surfaced in the Multiverse Saga storyline picking up after "Endgame." Here is every...

The first movie in James Gunn’s DC Universe is currently slated to hit theaters on July 11, 2025. Gunn is one of the shared universe’s overseers, and just to make sure the franchise gets off on the right foot, he has tasked himself to write and direct Superman (formerly Superman: Legacy). Its placement in the middle of July could help its chances of becoming a major summer blockbuster.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps is scheduled for July 25, 2025, exactly two weeks after Superman. Of course, Marvel Studios would hope to claim a big piece of the superhero movie market share with its Fantastic Four introduction, which could mean encroaching on some of Superman’s ticket sales. Although this is not the first time that two popular comic book properties have tangled up at theatrical venues, this is shaping up to be a particularly high-profile box office bout.

The epic fantasy films take their viewers on a journey through Middle-earth where they come across everything from hobbits to wizards. Video game movies with a prominent storyline don’t often transfer to the big screen in a way that can live up to its source material. The movie Borderlands is a recent example. However, with a game like Minecraft, in which the whole thing is a sandbox of which the player can make anything they want, the possibilities can be endless for how a movie adapts the property. Get a peek at how things unfold in the new trailer for A Minecraft Movie.

Thor: Love and Thunder often ranks among the most disliked MCU movies, largely due to its uneven tone that unsuccessfully mixed comedy with serious themes.
Fans felt that the humor, which worked well in Thor: Ragnarok, was overdone in Love and Thunder, crossing into cringeworthy territory.
Storytelling and character development weren’t the only aspects that drew criticism for Thor: Love and Thunder. While the film maintained the vibrant, colorful visual style established in Thor: Ragnarok, many felt it went overboard. With its bold colors, neon lighting, and retro 1980s-inspired aesthetic, the movie aimed to evoke a sense of fun, but this often clashed with the more serious themes, creating a divisive “Technicolor lunacy” that some praised and others disliked.

Ultron was initially introduced as a villain in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. An Artificial Intelligence initially created by Tony Stark and Bruce Banner to protect the Earth, Vision was eventually corrupted by the Mind Stone. The result was that Ultron now saw humanity as the Earth’s biggest threat, and proceeded to attempt a genocide against them.

The mythological dark comedy Kaos is a new Netflix series that could have easily collapsed under the weight of its highly stylized showcase. The series might have even lost itself within its own snide and manipulative, soapy family drama while only dipping its toe in mortal waters with themes the gods would never bother with.
However, series creator Charlie Covell finds something deeply moving and human beneath all of that expressionistic imagery and performances that revel in morally ambiguous roles. Bursting with creativity and a cynical black wit, Kaos is an undeniably entertaining series and a showcase for its star, Jeff Goldblum.

Alfonso Cuarón is one of the few auteur directors who has conquered the worlds of both prestige and blockbuster filmmaking. His latest project, the Apple TV+ miniseries Disclaimer, falls firmly into the former category, suffering from inaccessible storytelling, but is made worth watching by the committed efforts of its excellent cast and stunning production values.
Disclaimer Review
Based on the novel by Renee Knight, Disclaimer tells the story of a journalist whose life is thrown into disarray when she discovers that a character in a popular new book may be based on her own life. As one would expect, there’s more to the story than it seems on the surface, and the result is a melodrama exploring themes of perspective and memory.

As one would expect, there’s more to the story than it seems on the surface, and the result is a melodrama exploring themes of perspective and memory.

For the past four years, Chinese audiences haven’t shown much interest in Hollywood movies.
So, the breakout success of Disney and 20th Century’s “Alien: Romulus,” a gory sci-fi thriller that earns its R rating, has been a welcome surprise. The newest chapter in the long-running horror saga has been the rare bright spot among American imports with $82 million and counting in mainland China. It’s expected to reach $114 million (RMB819) by the end of its theatrical run, according to forecast from Chinese ticketing agency Maoyan.
So far, only one other 2024 U.S. title, the Warner Bros. tentpole “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire,” has managed to make a dent on China’s box office charts with $134 million. And in terms of Hollywood wins, those riches come with an asterisk because the monster mashup was produced by Chinese-owned Legendary Entertainment and distributed by the company’s China local unit Legendary East.

The Loki series painted Tom Hiddleston’s character in the most beautiful lights possible, after years of trying to find some higher meaning in his life. Desperately trying to amount to something greater and leave a legacy, he single-handedly became one of the most important characters in the MCU right now.

Becoming the God of Stories, fans were brought to tears as they saw their favorite angsty character finally get a shot at saving, not the world or the universe, but the multiverse as a whole. However, a theory suggests that this isn’t the first time the character has saved lives in the billions.
Hela and Her Glorious Purpose
In Thor: Ragnarok, there is an iconic scene of Cate Blanchett’s Hela in the throne room, destroying Odin’s throne, as well as the royal mural that depicts the story of how Asguard created its empire.

Borderlands is coming home... less than a month after it was released in theaters.
Lionsgate has announced that the star-studded but critically-panned video game adaptation will be available to purchase on Premium Video on Demand (PVOD) and Premium Electronic Sell-Through (Est) from this Friday, August 30.
We didn't expect the movie to stay in theaters for too much longer after a disastrous stint at the box office (it grossed just over $24 million with an estimated $120 million budget), but its home release is happening quite a bit sooner than analysts had predicted.
There's always a slim chance the movie will find a new lease of life on Digital and Blu-ray, but between the dismal Bo returns and the similarly awful reviews, it's probably safe to assume that this franchise is well and truly dead in the water.
