This is hands down the best rpg I have played.
Being used to elder scrolls and similar open world rpg games it was definitely a bit weird changing to turn-based, click to move style play. But omg is it worth the adjustment! This is up there with the likes of read dead redemption 2 in terms of care and thought of the developers who made the game. Lairion took their time and put in the effort to make a proper game and it has payed off.
Unlike most modern games we got a complete, microtansaction and pre-installed dlc-free, cheap, satisfying game which has redefined its genre.
I have discovered one single bug so far after 50 hours which was a simple visual bug in a single cutscene. The rest of the game has been running smooth as silk.
The depth of roleplay is astounding, they really have thought of everything. It's playing DnD on a computer. For people like me who struggle to get into DnD because we've been raised on video games rather than tabletop/ imagination based games this really is the best roleplaying experience you can get.
I've found that, just like my first time playing fallout new vegas or morrowind that I've gone way off track from my objective to explore that cave which has led to a me exploring a village and then a random walk around so if you like rhe wandering of other open world rpgs you'll get that here also.
Hopefully I've convinced any rpg video gamers that BG3 is absolutely worth getting. Don't be put off by how different the style of play is as I was, it's totally worth it.
Game of the year and decade so far for me.
