First scene itself is so compellingly 'shot', that it will draw you into the movie .Its all about chaos that follows in a Night house party (which also has a dead body)
Dark humor,Witty Characters are major positives & breezy pace is icing on the top(just 90 mins). Narrative is crisp & each character brings in something unique. Screenplay vividly highlights human emotions. All cast is pitch perfect .All technical aspects praiseworthy.
Definitely a enjoyable watch!!!

This time Rajat Kapoor surprises everyone with his new directorial venture a crime thriller with tinches of Dark Comedy. The plot is hard hitting and much realistic but the way the satire has been presented is something which is phenomenal. The enlightenment of the comedy punchlines and highlighting a society which only wants their piece of pie through this murder mystery made it really really engaging. The sound Designing and the colour palate made it even more interesting. The performances too were great being it Ranvir Shorey, Rajat Kapoor, or the main highlight Cyrus Sahukar as a hypocrite made it much more phenomenal. I loved this film and will highly highly recommend it. Do give it a watch.
Good movie from rajat kapoor it is mainly a dark comedy movie but very nicely presented with a night good dialogues and good direction.
Kadakh is Low Budget thriller starring some of the best actors like Ranvir Shorey, Rajat Kapoor, Manoj Pahwa, Cyrus Sahukar, Shruti Seth, Kalki Koechlin so there are no doubts that performances gonna be Great. The film is about the chaos that follows in one Diwali Party. It is filled with Dark Humour, Hilarious One-liners, and Some exciting moments. The Best part is none character goes out of the frame if they are around the camera you can watch them discussing with each other out of focus. It's definitely One Time
Watch! Recommended! 😄
I didn't realize when the movie started and when ended because it was engaging. The house party looked like a real one the way all actors were involved so naturally.
It wasn't a complete thriller but about relations too.
It certainly watchable, and way better than all web series and web movies nowadays full of profanity.

Brilliant movie. Rajat the hidden Sun shines again. Great direction and story written. Excellent cast. All actors have acted in their own realistic way. Thx for making my weekend great.

Just over 90 minutes, this suspense drama begins in the first few minutes of the film. It's a wonderful suspense film where there is a dead body in the house and it's Diwali with friends coming over. What do you do?
As far as the acting is concerned, everyone were natural. The writing is also very tightly written. There was no over the top drama anywhere nor any unnecessary scenes. I was disappointed with the climax. You can't push us to a trans with suspense and then just let it go there. A poor climax but a worthy journey.

Rajat kapoor delivered yet another well scripted movie.
One day a unknown person entered in Ranvir's house, asking to discuss some important issue and further story line engaged you in smoothly up-to the end. Every actor did their job superbly. Don't miss such a beautiful crafted thriller.

Real good movie, very tightly scripted. It is a chaotic setting with a lot of actors in a relatively small place and it must have been difficult to shoot it and sound mix it, but the creative team has done a great job. Full marks to everyone including the actors and the director Rajat. Every time I see a Rajat Kapoor movie I am impressed. Pure Class !!!

It is a dark comedy written by Rajat Kapoor, which is filled with many bizarre characters inside the same flat.
The majority of the film is set indoors, so the writing needs to be exemplary, which is not here.
The premise presents enough intrigue, but it fails to be a compelling story. The plot is unique, but its story is chaotic. It starts as a thriller and turns into a play with no sense at all.
The film is mostly in search of its identity. Its another weak link is very many characters.
Every character here comes with their issues, but that doesn't really contribute to the central plot. The writing sometimes surprises.
Apart from the beginning of the film, there is not much to attract attention. The ending also seems very simple and unsatisfactory.
As I said, the film has many characters. The first of these is Ranvir Shorey, who is a great actor. But it has taken some time to see him doing something interesting here.
There are many such moments where we see what he can do, but he fails to remain memorable.
Manoj Pahwa and Mansi Multani are effective. Rajat Kapoor also comes as a writer. Cyrus Sahukar is in a good character as a motivational speaker.
Apart from this, the film stars Chandrachoor Rai, Shruti Seth, Nupur Asthana, Sagar Deshmukh, Tara Sharma Saluja, and Kalki Koechlin, and Palomi Ghosh.
One of the weak links of the film is also directed by Rajat Kapoor. He occasionally directs. He has increased the noise with every passing scene. Rajat Kapoor fails to make a compelling story out of it.
Overall, SonyLIV Kadakh movie has come with a long story and short run-time, which has a lot of good moments. It's attractive enough to be watched at once.

Please do not watch the trailer if you have not seen this movie because it really spoils the movie superbly. I was one of the unfortunate person who did that.
"Kadhak" has a really good plot. If you like comedy genre then you can't miss this one. This one is not an immaturish comedy with a starcast or some comedy sitcoms. The casting is also nice. Background music also works good. Some people may not like the ending but overall it's a good movie if not perfect.

The movie could have been better
Pros:
Cons:
- if it was 40 minutes short film
Pros:
- initial thrill
- a bit comedy
- acting by Ranveer
- story start and end stays with you.
Cons:
- loopholes (the characters play a bit dumb probably to stretch the story a bit far)
- less believablity

Though Kadakh shares many elements, and is loosely based on Alfred Hitchcock's Rope, the movie is beautifully adapted to the Indian middle class scene quite spectacularly. Friendships, relationships, loyalty, human character, aggression, moods, social decorum, everything is inspected and tested in this riveting character study that introspect's an atmosphere of a thriller but still makes you want to wait and know what is going to happen. Full credit to writer-director Rajat Kapoor, for keeping up the momentum in this brilliant and comical satire.
Cinematography is good, studio lighting is uniformly maintained. Rajat Kapur's splendid and deceptively-simple screenplay deserves full marks, though his direction looks primarily like a stage play but who is complaining, if the content is so good. Production design, music, costumes and makeup deserves a small pat and an understandable sympathy considering the budget. Ranvir Shorey spectacularly leads a full strength brigade of supporting actors, who perform to their best of their abilities honestly. Editing is crisp and neat with a runtime of 95 minutes.
Overall, This is a macabre satire that should be enjoyed at face-value with the option of ruminating on the deeper things, like a metaphor for the dead body as problems in life. A wonderful movie that will light up a typical Saturday evening or a lazy Sunday afternoon. And if you are interested, "Kadakh" means "centerpiece." 7 stars out of 10 for this brilliantly adapted dark comedy.

Sometimes the characters in Kadakh (Rigid (assumption)) do not feel like they are responding realistically to certain events even as you sit back and enjoy this dark comedy where a group of friends get together to celebrate the festival of Diwali without knowing (except for the hosts) about the presence of a corpse in the house. You will sense these character issues right from the start even if you get lost in the conversation-heavy middle that Kadakh pushes you into, letting you get a kick out of all the dialogues about gender roles, child rearing, book publishing, hypocrisy, meat-eating, adultery, and upper-class lifestyle. Rajat Kapoor manages to keep you hooked till the end even though he keeps the plotholes open and a lot many questions unanswered, which points to the very clear message that this is not about a crime and its investigation but about adultery and the vices of men and women, and their acuteness when they get together. A good attempt, and although a bit tasteless at the moment in Hindi cinema due to its insensitive handling of suicide, it will entertain you if you let it. The splendid cast and their performance will influence you, no doubt. What a film! TN.

Loved the way how a most common topic "adultery" has been handled/addressed, acting was ok, since it's a short movie, not all characters had too much to do but it's fun to watch.
