The wait for “Bridgerton” Season 2 is over at last. As usual, Netflix has a robust lineup of new movies and shows streaming in March, including the return of the lusty Shondaland Regency romance series that left audiences swooning after Season 1 debuted in December 2021.
Other new shows on Netflix this month include the thriller series “Pieces of Her” starring Bella Heathcote and Toni Collette as a mother-daughter duo contending with the mother’s past after a shocking act of violence uncover long-hidden secrets. Also debuting this month is the “Big Mouth” spinoff “Human Resources,” which “pulls back the curtain on the daily lives of the creatures – Hormone Monsters, Depression Kitties, Shame Wizards, and many more – that help humans journey through every aspect of life from puberty to childbirth to the twilight years.”

The headline news for fantasy fans on Netflix UK this month is the arrival of eight-part adaptation Shadow and Bone, based on Leigh Bardugo’s Grisha trilogy. It’s the story of Alina, a girl who discovers she wields a mighty power that sees her targeted by a covetous foe. You can read more about the cast here. For families, at the end of the month there’s Sony’s latest animated feature The Mitchells Vs the Machines, which is made by the creators of excellent animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
Comedy-wise, Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer co-star in regular-Joan-gets-superpowers movie Thunder Force. And for anybody looking to brush up their Spanish for a summer holiday, Netflix has the latest Harlan Coben mystery thriller, The Innocent.
On top of that, there’s a clutch of older films, from John Carpenter’s They Live to the Coen Bros.’ The Big Lebowski...

Netflix is the king of the streaming world until proven otherwise. But in recent months the streamer’s lists of new releases have looked relatively sparse as competing media conglomerates remove their titles from Netflix’s library. With its list of new releases for April 2021, however, Netflix appears to have its original production machine operating at high capacity once again.
There are plenty of intriguing Netflix original series and films this month. The one that appears to have the highest blockbuster potential though is the series Shadow and Bone on April 23. Shadow and Bone is adapted from Leigh Bardugo’s Grisha-verse trilogy and should bring another compelling sci-fi/fantasy universe to the streaming world.

When Sunday morning rolls around and Halloween is officially in the rearview mirror, the focus is going to shift towards Christmas as pumpkins and skeletons get replaced by reindeer and Santas. Every year a wave of new movies are released to capitalize on people’s continued obsession with the festive season, even if very few of them manage to ascend to classic status.
The roster of holiday favorites has largely remained unchanged for decades bar the odd recent addition or two, but Netflix are doubling down on their Christmas content regardless, and the streaming service has a massive amount of seasonal movies and TV shows coming down the pipeline throughout November and December.
Netflix’s Christmas lineup hails from all over the world and includes both animated and live-action titles, while it runs the entire genre spectrum with everyone from Kurt Russell to Dolly Parton getting involved, and you can...

An overwhelming amount of subscribers might not have been able to look past Enola Holmes when it debuted on Wednesday, with the literary adaptation dominating both the online chatter and Top 10 most-watched list ever since, but the apparent franchise starter wasn’t the only title to arrive on Netflix this week worthy of spending a couple of hours on.
Of course, the streaming service isn’t in the position to have a library built entirely on in-house content, and likely won’t be for a long while yet, but as the platform with seemingly the biggest bank account that’s spending $20 billion on original projects alone and millions more on the distribution rights to pre-existing material each year, Netflix have long since established themselves as the ones to beat.

As if you’re not already filled to the brim with excellent content this month, Netflix has yet another drop to offer today that will top up your list a bit more. Though there aren’t any major titles being added, the addition of today’s four new series and a documentary will certainly appeal to those with niche tastes. Plus, the inclusion of two animated shows means there’s plenty here to keep the kids busy until you can watch something that’s more your speed.
For starters, Mighty Express is a new Netflix Original series for toddlers that follows a team of trains and a group of kids as they teach the value of teamwork. It comes from the folks behind Paw Patrol, so although you’re unlikely to get too wrapped up in it, the younger ones are almost guaranteed to stay entertained for a bit.

Once again, Netflix have found one of their original movies dominating the cultural conversation, as The Devil All the Time continues to reside in the upper echelons of the Top 10 most-watched list. Much of the praise is being pointed in the direction of Tom Holland’s transformative performance, and while the psychological thriller won’t be the awards season contender that many thought it might be, the Spider-Man star’s phenomenal work could yet see him enter the conversation.
Of course, with the streaming wars in full swing and competition getting fiercer every day as rival platforms constantly expand their libraries, Netflix can’t afford to stand still for even a second and bask in their latest success. Which is why next week sees plenty of new additions, including another in-house feature that’s being earmarked as a potential franchise starter.
