I’ve got some cool news for all you movie lovers out there. MGM has teamed up with YouTube to release 100 ad-supported films that you can watch for free! These films are now currently available to watch, and if you have the YouTube Premium service, you won’t have to sit through the ads.
Some of the films that you can watch include the Rocky film series, the Pink Panther movies, the original Terminator, Legally Blonde, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story, Saved, and a bunch of other films. This is just their way of trying to fill some kind of void that will be left behind when FilmStruck comes to an end.
Rohit Dhawan, director of product management at YouTube, told Ad Age, "We saw this opportunity based on user demand, beyond just offering paid movies. It also presents a nice opportunity for advertisers."

On Tuesday, February 9th, 2016, after receiving its World Premiere at the Los Angeles Film Festival, American DREAMers receives it’s North American release online and on demand. The feature documentary, directed by Jenniffer Castillo and Saray Deiseil and executive produced by Jon Huertas ("Castle") and Nicholas Stich (With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story), follows the journey of a group of undocumented youth who publicly come out as undocumented and walk 3,000 miles across America's heartland — from San Francisco to Washington D.C. — to organize for immigrant rights. The filmmakers talked about their own journey in making the heart-felt documentary, and we hope many eyes will watch American DREAMers which puts a face to the immigration issue.

A recurring theme that Stan Lee cites as being the main reason for the great success and mass appeal of the characters he has created for Marvel Comics throughout his career is to remember that the humanity of the ordinary person behind the mask is actually more important than the glamorous, super-powered alter ego. In the feature-length documentary With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story, one gets a glimpse behind the mask at the true Stan Lee, a creative genius and pop culture impresario responsible for bringing to life characters as varied as Spider-Man, Iron Man, the X-Men, the Hulk, the Fantastic Four, and Thor--just to name a few. As a result, he himself is a hero to many who have grown up with and identify with these characters. But what is Stan Lee really like?

We all owe a debt of gratitude to Stan “The Man” Lee for creating Spider-Man, Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, and basically every other awesome comic book character that has come to life from the Marvel vaults. Yes, his celebrity has perhaps gotten a tad ridiculous (and he’s certainly past his comic book writing prime at 89 years old and counting), but you can’t deny how important and brilliant the man was at creating worlds and the characters we grew up loving and are now getting to see on the big screen in all the glory you could hope for.
To tide you over until Iron Man 3, you can check out With Great Power: The Stan Lee story, a documentary about the writer that features interviews with fans, colleagues, and celebrities, including Kevin Smith, Patrick Stewart, Samuel L. Jackson, and Eva Mendes… A lot of big names came out...

TV Hulk star Lou Ferrigno is to unveil his new superhero project Liberator - whose cast also includes Michael Dorn, best known as Star Trek's Klingon lieutenant Worf - at Stan Lee's upcoming Comikaze Expo.
Liberator - described as a 20-minute action-packed TV pilot masquerading as a short film - will screen twice in Los Angeles this weekend.
On Saturday, September 15, Liberator will be the opening presentation ahead of the documentary With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story, starting at 7pm at the Downtown Independent Theater. Comics legend Stan Lee will attend, and there will be a panel discussion featuring Lou Ferrigno as well as the director and producers of both movies after the screening.
Then on Sunday, Liberator will be shown at Stan Lee's Comikaze Expo, to close the event at 5pm. Lou Ferrigno and other cast members will also attend the panel discussion after the screening.

The Catalina Film Festival is a celebration of film history, but the festival is still in its infancy. This year marked the weekend festival’s second incarnation, running from its opening gala Saturday night through its conclusion late Sunday afternoon. Like most of humanity, festival attendees were treated to an opening night screening of “The Avengers” in the island’s historic Avalon Theater. However, as an added bonus, the guest of honor was Stan Lee, the man responsible for some of Marvel’s biggest properties, including a few of the ones that were onscreen that evening. Partly by design and partly by coincidence, animation and comics became a weekend theme. Lee stayed in Catalina after opening night for a screening of the charming documentary “With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story” and a panel discussion afterwards that covered, among other things, his latest venture into comics-related content, Pow! Entertainment. “All.

Few figures in comic book lore command the attention and devotion of Stan Lee. Now in his late eighties, with a grey-white caterpillar of a moustache perpetually perched atop his upper lip and oversized, dark-tinted glasses, he’s an easily identifiable character, as iconic as one of his pop culture creations (Fantastic Four, Spider-Man and the X-Men, to name a few), and just as important. But many don’t know the story behind the man. “With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story,” a zippy and somewhat superficial documentary, attempts to fill in some of that backstory, and the result is as compulsively entertaining and colorful as any Marvel comic book. Excelsior!

Even if you're not a comic-book geek, chances are you know the name Stan Lee. His pioneering work with Marvel comics turned the struggling publishing company into a global entertainment phenomenon. With the release of both this weekend's "Avengers" and his new documentary "With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story," (which you can watch OnDemand on Epix) there was never a better time to talk to the man who was there at the beginning. During our chat with the 89-year-old pop-culture legend, he looked back on Marvel's crazy history with the movies: from the '70s Spielberg collaboration he wished would happen to Michael Jackson's attempts to play Spider-Man. One of the subjects we wanted to ask him concerned the controversy surrounding the acknowledgment of his long-time collaborator (and "Avengers" co-creator) Jack Kirby. It's a complicated story involving Kirby and Lee's contentious relationship; last summer, Kirby's estate lost a...

Stan Lee is not only the co-creater of Spider-Man, The Fantastic Four, The Incredible Hulk, X-Men and Iron Man (to name a few), but he is also a true American legend. His ability to craft characters, his passion for collaboration and his creative genius are just a few of the attributes of his impressive and prolific career.

At this day and age, you'd be pretty hard pressed to find someone who isn't aware of Stan Lee. After all, Marvel movies are all the rage right now. With the release of "The Avengers" and "The Amazing Spider-Man" just on the horizon, and sequels to "Iron Man," "Captain America," and "Thor" in the works, it's safe to say that there is not a single person in this country that has yet to be affected by the likes of these superheroes.
Lee's place in the history of comic books and popular culture alone should be reason enough to watch "With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story," the Epix original documentary following the life and times of Stan the man himself. However, for those a bit more skeptical about the life of Stan, we've compiled a list of reasons why we think "With Great Power" is worth a watch.

Despite the fact that virtually everyone knows who Stan Lee is, the vast majority of his life remains a mystery to most. Sure, he played an instrumental part in creating practically all of our favorite superheroes (Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, The Hulk, etc.), but that's all anyone really knows about him. That, and the fact that he has a small cameo in every Marvel movie.
Well, Epix plans to remedy that with their new documentary about the life and times of the one and only Stan Lee. "With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story" shows us a side of Lee that we've never seen before. We see him at home with his family. We see him as a young man writing his first comic books. And we even see him enlisting in the army!

Stan the Man (as it is impossible not to call him) is not only the principal creator of all the characters in the forthcoming motion picture "The Avengers" (perhaps you heard of it) but he is also the Star of his own movie.
"With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story" is making its debut on Epix this Friday. It is a fun and intimate look at the legendary comic creator's life and career. And it's like hanging out with that awesome Great Uncle who tells loud jokes at family functions.

Update: After attending a NY press screening, Moviefone can confirm that Jack Kirby's name is listed in the end credits as a co-creator. Previously, we referred to Kirby's omission from promotional materials of the upcoming film. Original story appears below. On May 4, the hugely anticipated adaptation of Marvel Comics' premiere superhero team, "The Avengers," hits theaters. But what many movie fans might not realize is that a nasty battle regarding ownership rights is currently going on behind the scenes. Most people know Stan Lee as the father of the Marvel Universe, but his efforts creating Spider-Man, Iron Man and the X-Men were not accomplished single-handedly. When the Avengers made their comic book debut in September 1963, Lee shared co-creator credit on the book with artist Jack Kirby. The prolific illustrator, who passed away in 1994, is also credited as the co-creator of characters Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk,...

He's 89 years old, and his career is hotter than ever. With hits like Thor, Captain America and X-Men: First Class dominating the box office in 2011, and upcoming films like The Avengers and The Amazing Spider-Man looking to light up the summer in 2012, you'd think that a man whose career in comic books began just prior to World War II might want to slow down. Think again -- because this 89 year-old dynamo is named Stan Lee. This year's Sundance Film Festival offered a smorgasbord of art-house delights, but its competitor across the street -- the scrappy Slamdance Film Festival -- presented one of Park City's best events last week when it hosted comic book legend Stan Lee for a two-hour master class associated with Slamdance's screening of the new documentary, With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story. Just two days after receiving the Vanguard Award from the Producers Guild of America,...

The X-Men. Spider Man. The Incredible Hulk. Thor. The Fantastic Four. These superheroes and more come (or so they say) from the mind of Stan Lee. You may not recognize him by name, but if you’ve seen any of the movies based on the Marvel heroes, you probably recognize his face — he’s had mini-cameos in just about every one of them. Now he’s got a movie of his own, With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story, a documentary that appears, from its trailer (via EW), to be a dangerously puffy puff piece.
(The preview currently isn’t embeddable, but we’ll update with one when it arrives.)
With Great Power looks to have been made in collaboration with it’s subject, so I doubt it’ll get too in-depth into the controversy over Lee‘s authorship of his most famous characters. The trailer is just a series of people — Tobey Maguire,...

Stan "The Man" Lee. You may have heard of the guy. Who is he? Well, he's only the co-creator of Marvel's Spider-Man, the X-Men, Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, and the Fantastic Four - iconic characters that revolutionize the superhero comics industry. Nuff said! With a significant impact in the realm of costumed crime fighters, a documentary on his life would be really interesting to see and whos better to tell his story than the man himself. With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story will cover his early beginnings to the present with a host of interviews including President-ceo of Marvel Studios Avi Arad, Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, Patrick Stewart, Samuel L. Jackson, Nicolas Cage, Jon Favreau, Seth Rogen, Kenneth Branagh, Eva Mendes and many...

The 88-year old comic pioneer, best known for co-creating a multitude of comic characters from Spider-Man to the X-Men, Stan Lee is undeniably a cultural icon. Even if you don.t read comics or give two shits who invented who, it.s likely you recognize .that old guy. who seems to pop up in just about anything comic book related. Or, you just think he.s Larry King. The documentary, With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story, covers Stan-the-Man.s life story, from his depression era upbringing,...

Even if you only know of the Marvel superheroes from their feature film adaptations, chances are you’ve heard of Stan Lee, the man who today is most famously associated with creating Spider-Man, the X-Men, Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, and the Fantastic Four — along with iconic artists Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko. My colleague Darren Franich recently wrote about the sensitive nature of Lee’s claims of authorship – Lee himself has been careful of late to note he collaborated with Kirby and Ditko on those characters – but one thing is most certain: Few people have been better at telling...

Just when I thought I'd had enough of Stan Lee, between all of his silly cameos in Marvel movie adaptations, his ridiculous reality series ideas, and his constant presence throughout Morgan Spurlock's new film, "Comic-Con IV: A Fan's Hope," a conventional biographical profile has come my way and I'm back in love with 'The Man' behind so many of my favorite comic book characters. Actually, I'm in now love with Stan and Joan Lee, who together make the documentary "With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story" more extraordinary than I had anticipated. Forget looking up to his creations, like the…...

What Stan Lee's comics lacked in subtlety, they made up for in sheer exuberance. The same could be said for the new documentary about Lee's life, "With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story," which shares its subject's gregarious personality and quickness to dismiss controversy. Hardships are addressed but never permitted to dwell in our minds long enough to detract from the bouncy, colorful ride.
Though there are dozens of other interview subjects, from historians to contemporaries to adoring fans (including Paris Hilton, of all people), Lee's first person recollections provide the spine of the film. If the origins of Spider-Man, Iron Man, and the Hulk sound familiar after innumerable repetitions on DVD supplements, at least their presentation looks fresh and vibrant, thanks to beautifully animated renderings of classic Marvel artwork by Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, and more. The most interesting material is...

Ka-pow! Here’s the poster (via Imp Awards) for a new documentary on Papa Marvel himself, Stan Lee.
Now almost as iconic as the characters he once dreamt up, at the ripe old age of 88, Lee is still very much as relevant today as he was all those decades back, feverishly writing away and bringing to life (which the help of many incredible artist, don’t forget) all of the creations seen around him here.
The marketing team behind With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story (see what they did there) can’t help but present him via a typically hyperbolic tagline (The incredible story behind the real superhero) but you have to give the man his props – he’s definitely attained legendary status. It’s also been a lot of fun to spot his various cameos in the live-action adaptations of his world, and how Marvel studios have utilised him in each new production.
