This summer’s blockbuster N.W.A biopic, Straight Outta Compton, will be getting two new soundtrack releases in early 2016. One of these, titled Straight Outta Compton: The Soundtrack (not to be confused with Dr. Dre’s Compton) boasts remastered versions of classic N.W.A cuts like "Fuck Tha Police," "Express Yourself" and the title track. “Out of the Crossfire, beyond Hardball, this is Crossballs!”
A parody of political debate shows, Crossballs has comedians pose as experts in their field to discuss the issue of the day and pits them against real life experts who are not aware of the farce debate they are participating in. The comedians argue both sides of an issue, be it ridiculous or not, and mine comedy from taking the issue to absurd lengths and goading reactions from the real experts.

Chicago – Vern started his career as one of those snarky critics who wrote in to Harry Knowles’ landmark and influential movie website Ain’t It Cool News. He became a regular writer for the site and his work there turned him into a very unorthodox author. His first book was a fantastic examination of, believe it or not, the career of Steven Seagal. Newly updated with a dozen new chapters about the recent adventures of his subject matter (the first printing was in 2008), “Seagalogy: A Study of the Ass-Kicking Films of Steven Seagal” is a funny, clever read for fans of the unusual action star and those who have never seen one of his movies. Vern’s movie-loving, smart, enjoyable writing makes this a more entertaining experience than Seagal himself has ever produced.
Don’t worry. This is not tongue-in-cheek nonsense. To say that Vern takes his subject matter seriously would be a Massive understatement.

Death Race 2
Stars: Luke Goss, Danny Trejo, Tanit Phoenix, Robin Shou, Ving Rhames, Sean Bean | Written by Tony Giglio | Directed by Roel Reine
This prequel to 2008’s Death Race (itself a remake of Roger Corman’s cult classic Death Race 2000) tells the origin story of Frankenstein, the helmet-clad racer defeated by Jason Statham in the first movie, as he progresses through Death Match – yes, that’s right, Death Race 2 does not start out with the eponymous race, but rather a brutal televised show that pits the felons of Terminal Island against each other in hand to hand combat. It’s only when ratings dip, and the fact that the prison has plenty of cars in its scrapyard, that the Death Race is born…
There were many people that decried this proposed prequel to a film which already had a limited built-in audience, but for me there were...

If there’s one thing the Palin family knows how to do, it’s fire back. On Saturday night, Bristol Palin posted a 655-word retort to Margaret Cho’s Nov. 29 blog post titled “Pistol Whipped” claiming that she heard from someone who “really should seriously know the dirt really really” that Bristol only did Dancing With the Stars because Sarah Palin forced her to do it. “Sarah supposedly blames Bristol harshly and openly (in the circles that I heard it from) for not winning the election,” Cho wrote, “and so she told Bristol she ‘owed’ it to her to do...

"Really, Margaret? Really?" Bristol Palin wrote in response to her former "Dancing with the Stars" competitor Margaret Cho. Cho posted a blog titled "Pistol Whipped" that said that "the only reason Bristol was on the show was because Sarah Palin forced her to do it." The comedian continued on saying that "Sarah supposedly blames Bristol harshly and openly ... for not winning the election, and so she told Bristol she 'owed' it to her to do 'Dwts' so that 'America would fall in love with her again.'" Bristol, 20, reacted to the blog by putting up her own post, writing: "Let me be blunt: my mom did not 'force' me to go on 'Dwts.' She did not ask me either. The show approached me. I thought about it. I made the decision. After first worrying for me in terms of being exposed to those who hate us for what we believe in,...

Death Race 2 is a sequel I don’t think anyone saw coming. I find it hard to imagine there were many people who after watching the first and very average instalment of Paul W.S. Anderson’s prison racing film felt like they needed more – but for those that did, you are in for a treat as this film offers more of the same convict-racing carnage and little else!
Jason Statham and Joan Allen won’t be returning in this straight to DVD sequel but have been replaced by (arguably) a stronger cast of Sean Bean, Ving Rhames, Danny Trejo and Luke Goss.
Paul W.S. Anderson also was too busy making bigger budget features (Resident Evil: Afterlife) to return as director but stays on as writer and producer of the film. Roel Reine has replaced him and has several less then successful films under his belt; including the straight to...

It made us laugh, so we thought we'd share the love. Here, for your entertainment, is the trailer for Death Race 2, speeding straight to a DVD player near you.A prequel to the Jason Statham remake directed by Paul Ws Anderson, Death Race 2 gives us the origin of the creative penal reform programme underway at Terminal Island. This means that Ving Rhames gets to deliver the classic line "What if we could harness their hatred, in, uh, a Death Race?" That's all you need to know about the film, right there. But if you need further details, Luke Goss is the star, playing the original Frankenstein who Jason Statham replaced in 2008; South African supermodel Tanit Phoenix replaces Natalie Martinez as the hottie; Danny Trejo seems to have the Ian McShane kindly-old-lag role; and Sean Bean gets to keep his own accent. Hoorah!Roel Reine, who made the Steven Seagal vehicle Pistol Whipped,...

Bloody Disgusting have unveiled the first trailer for Death Race: Frankenstein Lives, which is directed by Roel Reiné, who was responsible for the Steven Seagal flick Pistol Whipped and the WWE Films sequel The Marine 2; with a script from writer/director Tony Giglio who previously found success with his Dtv 80’s slasher throwback Timber Falls.
Death Race 2 takes place in the very near future, as the United States economy begins to decline and violent crime starts to spiral out of control. To contain the growing criminal population, a vast network of for-profit, private prisons springs up, creating a lawless subculture ruled by gangs, cold-blooded killers and sociopaths. The worst of these prisons is Terminal Island. Convicted cop-killer Carl Lucas arrives on the Island to serve his life sentence just as ruthlessly ambitious television personality September Jones launches the ultimate reality show, Death Race. Who knew that the John Cena action extravaganza “The Marine” was popular enough to warrant a sequel? Not this guy, apparently. Cena, however, has moved on to greener pastures, allowing another WWE star to take the reins. Seeing as how I’m not a wrestling fan, the name Ted Dibiase does absolutely nothing for me. He must be a bankable guy, as he’s landed the lead role in “Pistol Whipped” director Roel Reiné’s follow-up to the mildly popular 2006 actioner. The aforementioned Dibiase stars as a highly-trained recon sniper who must save a gaggle of vacationers from a band of savage terrorists. A sequel that has nothing to do with the original? Imagine that! According to the chaps at Film Junk, the DVD will contain “behind-the-scenes featurettes, a profile of Ted Dibiase (including interviews with his dad and brother), plus deleted and extended scenes.” Not too shabby for a low-budget,...

Strange but true: Steven Seagal may be all washed up here in North America, where he’s become a bit of a side show curiosity and object of mockery. But Japan? Japan’s a different story. His films still do pretty well there, a decent number of them landing theatrical releases and provoking such things as, you know, full fledged marketing campaigns. Which means trailers. Yes, there is a Japanese trailer online now for Seagal’s latest, Pistol Whipped, which also stars Lance Henriksen in a support role, Sure, Henriksen will go pretty much anywhere and do pretty much anything for a paycheck but he’s pretty solid in everything he does and the production values in this actually look quite good. Plus, as an added bonus, you get a super enthusiastic Japanese narrator. Huzzah!
