- TriviaThe players who participate in the NFL Combine are draft-eligible players who are selected by the Player Selection Committee. The committee bases their decisions on input given by the 32 NFL teams, NFL executives from the player personnel departments, as well as the Directors of the National and BLESTO scouting services. The athletes who receive enough votes by position will be given an invitation. The committee's goal is to invite every player who will be drafted in the upcoming NFL Draft. To qualify for the NFL Combine, players should have: a high school diploma, completed three years after high school, played college football, developed movement mechanics, and declared for the draft. The committee typically invites 300-335 players each year, with 250 invitations going to players who have completed their college eligibility. The remaining 50 invitations are given to underclassmen and players who have expressed interest in entering the draft before completing their college eligibility.

Gaywashing and the Postmortem Outing of Aaron Hernandez
This should have been called the gaywashing and postmortem outing of Aaron Hernandez, because 90% of the focus is on his alleged bi-sexuality. It's gratuitous and often not helpful for providing insights into his motivations and behavior. If you see Ryan Murphy as the producer on a film, you know that he is going to try to shoe horn a gay curve on his main characters, but I was just hoping that this would be better. It's one thing when someone is openly gay or they tell their own story, but it's another when you dedicate this much of the so-called docudrama to whispers. Besides that, Shayanna Jenkins, his longtime girlfriend and fiance was a Black woman. They chose someone damn near White to play her role which is offensive.
We will never know the extent of Aaron Hernandez's bi-sexuality and I'm not sure that really matters in comparison to the criminal acts that were alleged against him, and for which he was convicted. This show seems to be operating on a premise that like Whitney Houston, if he had just been allowed to be openly gay, he wouldn't have gone down the dark path. That's very simplistic and quite frankly childish storytelling. They should have done more to really dig into who he was. No pun intended.
