Spider-Man: No Way Home Almost Featured an Easter Egg from 2003 Daredevil Movie - Main Image
Spider-Man: No Way Home almost featured an easter egg to the maligned 2003 Ben Affleck-led Daredevil movie.
The MCU film notably brought back several actors from Marvel's past including Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's respective versions of Spider-Man and the villains in their movies.
Another Marvel star who made a major comeback in the film is Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock, who was last seen in the original Daredevil series on Netflix and is making his first official MCU appearance.

One of Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige's first gig in the entertainment industry was working as an assistant to Richard Donner's wife Shuler Donner. Through this job, he made his way into the world of Marvel movies.
Donner was a producer on Bryan Singer's 2000 film X-Men, and that's where he started to interject his fandom into the comic book films that were being made. If it wasn't for Feige, Hugh Jackman's Wolverine would have never had that epic hairdo that came right out of the comics. Here's the story of how that all went down from Vanity Fair:
One day on set, Shuler Donner and Avi Arad, then head of Marvel Studios, watched as an exasperated stylist, at Feige’s insistence, sprayed and teased actor Hugh Jackman’s hair higher and higher to create the hairstyle that would become the signature look of the character Wolverine.

Ben Affleck has had a roller coaster of a career. He started out with an Oscar winning bang then his star fell quicker than you can try to pronounce Gigili. But what goes up must come down and then back up again! Affleck took to the director's seat and showed the world that he is a "crazy" good filmmaker. Ben pumped out powerful dramas left and right but suddenly we were all hit with the news that this former Daredevil (and Kinda Superman) actor will be the new Batman in Batman V... Read More...

While it’s probably safe to say that we’re all unbelievably pumped for this weekend’s release of the Justice League movie, it’s interesting to note that some other DC trivia is being brought to light that’s entirely separate from the big team-up flick. Sure, it came to us via the usual press rounds that Ben Affleck must make, but this factoid is something that we won’t soon forget.
When appearing on a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, the current actor having the privilege of playing Batman somehow got on the topic of what life was like for him and his longtime friend/colleague Matt Damon much earlier in their careers. Having started off in the industry when they were essentially kids, it’s understandable that they have many unforgettable experiences to share.

We’d be lying if we said the rumors that Ben Affleck was hanging up the cape and cowl didn’t make us choke up a bit. We’ve only seen him as Batman in two films to date, but he’s left an indisputable positive impression and we’ve become big fans of his portrayal. For many, he’s the only interpretation of the Dark Knight that they’ll accept in the Dceu.
There’s no denying the two-time Oscar winner is a talented all-rounder, but his initial casting as the iconic Caped Crusader rattled the cages of many comic book fans. Not everyone was behind the idea of Batfleck due to the nightmarish flashbacks of 2003’s Daredevil, which was a fair-enough concern all things considered. After seeing his portrayal in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, though, it’s hard to imagine anyone else but him in the...

Jennifer Garner just provided us with the only video that matters today. We all know the 45-year-old actress as one of the most poised, professional and put-together women in Hollywood. She's dazzled on the red carpet and captivated us in movies like 13 Going on 30 and Daredevil. Not to mention, she's a doting mommy-of-three and one of those women who just really seem to have it all together! But what happens when someone like Jen Garner goes in for dental surgery and comes out on novocaine and laughing gas? Well, things get pretty crazy... The actress took to Instagram to share a hilarious video of herself literally freaking out over Hamilton after getting some anesthesia, and it was one of...

Despite having Superman Lives escape his grasp two decades ago, Kevin Smith has done well for himself in the time since. Not only has he gone on to write comic books highlighting the exploits of Daredevil, Green Arrow and Batman, but he also had the good fortune of directing two episodes of The Flash in recent years.
But after overseeing two pivotal installments featuring the Scarlet Speedster, Smith set his sights on National City. Not wasting any time, he handily helmed two episodes of Supergirl during its sophomore season. And although they didn’t lack the emotional resonance that was seen in his Flash offerings, they turned out to be visual effects spectacles, each being an achievement when it came to thrilling science fiction experiences on television.

Deadline is reporting that Jennifer Garner is in talks to take the lead role in Pierre Morel's upcoming revenge thriller flick Peppermint. It has been quite a while since Garner embraced the action genre, with her breakthrough role in J.J. Abrams' television series Alias and the unfortunate Elektra role in Daredevil and Elektra. When her husband and daughter are gunned down in a drive-by, the heroine wakes up from a coma and spends years learning to become a lethal killing machine. On the 10th anniversary of her family’s death, she targets everyone she holds responsible, the gang that committed the act, the lawyers that got them off, and the corrupt cops that enabled the murderous incidents. The same article in Deadline suggests that this premise...

Most single-shot sequences, aren’t. What you’d swear are single takes are actually seamless edits — but that doesn’t dilute their mind-bending power. Even better: one-take action sequences like the third-act corker in “Atomic Blonde,” which sees Charlize Theron battling scads of baddies in a longform, long-take sequence designed to look like a single shot.
David Deitch’s film is filled with heart-pounding action scenes (Theron cracked multiple teeth while filming the Cold War-set Berlin spy thriller), but it’s that big final battle that action fans will remember. And while “Atomic Blonde” feels fresh, the sequence takes plenty of cues from single-shots that have come before.

For an actor as charismatic and watchable, not to mention built for action, as Jason Statham, it’s awfully surprising that he hasn’t appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe yet. He’s been rumored for numerous roles over the years, but so far, nothing has stuck. That doesn’t mean the studio hasn’t pursued him, though, as in a recent interview with Den of Geek, producer Kevin Feige revealed that they’ve courted the actor in the past.
If you recall, Statham was heavily rumored to be playing Bullseye in Daredevil (the show) at one point, but according to Feige, he’s been eyed for one of their films as well. While the Marvel head honcho wouldn’t say which movie they wanted the action star for, he did admit that the actor turned them down, telling the studio that he couldn’t take the job due to scheduling conflicts.

Kevin Feige reveals to us that Jason Statham very nearly appeared in a Marvel movie...
You may have noticed, but at this site, we’re really quite fond of The Statham. Marvel and Sony are already planning their sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming and Iron Man will not be returning. As you know, Iron Man plays a huge role in Spider-Man: Homecoming. He's been featured so heavily in the marketing of the film that fans joke that the Spider-Man movie is actually Iron Man 4.
Turns out, when the sequel rolls around, Iron Man won't be a part of it. But, according to THR's inside sources, there's a new "to-be-determined Marvel character" that will join Spider-Man on his next adventure. I have no idea who that would be.
I know it won't happen, but I'd love to see Spider-Man team up with Daredevil or Deadpool. It'd also be kind of fun to see him and The Hulk join forces, which seems more likely, but there are going to be 60 Marvel characters in Avengers: Infinity War and the character who joins Spider-Man could end up being any one of them.
Now that I think about it, The Hulk would actually be kinda great because I think Bruce Banner would make a great mentor for Peter Parker. They also have some great comic book story arcs together that Marvel could pull from. A movie featuring these two characters could be a blast!
As for why Iron Man won't be returning? I have a feeling that many of the core team members from the original Avengers roster won't be returning to the McU after Infinity War. Like Kevin Feige said, that story arc is going to change everything. ...

It seems like Marvel TV and Marvel Studios are the “will they, won’t they” couple of our geeky film lives. Given that the Marvel Television universe first branched off of 2012’s Avengers, it was initially expected that at some point down the line, some of our favorite TV heroes would bleed onto the big screen. However, while the TV shows have often bent over backwards to connect themselves to the movies, you don’t see the same courtesy being extended to the TV universe in the films themselves. Add into that the divide between Marvel Studios and Marvel Entertainment some time ago, and it seems like we may never get the ultimate crossover we were all hoping for.
But the folks over at Marvel Studios aren’t stupid. The reason why there’s always a story about this ever few months or so is because they’ve made sure...

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has pretty much been on fire ever since it was first introduced with Iron Man back in 2008. Sure, there may have been a few duds along the way (Thor: The Dark World, Iron Man 2), but on the whole, the universe has remained strong as time has gone on. However, as Marvel Studios adds more and more films to its already-long list, one has to wonder for how much longer it can go. At one point will these Marvel movies grow stale to most viewers, and are they changing them quickly enough?
With this year’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Thor: Ragnarok, as well as next year’s Black Panther, it certainly seems like they’re ready to shift the style of storytelling into something a bit less bland, but how far are they willing to change things? For instance, are they ever...

Wonder Woman opened to stellar reviews this weekend and will no doubt be a huge financial hit. In honor of the Princess of the Amazons being the one to break the Dceu losing streak, Cinelinx looks back at the history of live-action superhero TV shows and movies with female leading characters.
Wonder Woman (1974)- Appropriately, Wonder Woman was the first-ever female super hero to get a live-action adaptation. This 1974 made-for-tv movie was a pilot for an intended series. It starred former professional tennis player Cathy Lee Crosby. The blonde-haired Crosby doesn’t seem like the natural choice to play the Amazon Princess, but then again, this version of Wonder Woman was not a typical adaptation. For one thing, she had no super powers. This was based on the 1968-1972 era of the Wonder Woman comic known as “Diana Prince: The New Wonder Woman” when she lost her powers and stopped wearing her trademark costume.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are very friendly exes — so much so that he’d love to direct her in a movie.
As Affleck chatted with People about his involvement in Red Nose Day and how he’s lending his Batman voice to the NBC charity telecast, we asked him, while on the subject of superheroes and the new Wonder Woman movie, if he’s interested in directing a female-led film.

Marvel has done well creating their shared movie universe, displaying far better execution with their properties than their rival DC Comics. Using 2008’s Iron Man as a launching pad, The Marvel Cinematic Universe has become a box office juggernaut, executing phase after phase with near perfection.
While having massive success in theaters, Marvel has slowly been building a secondary universe on the small screen. Beginning in 2013 with Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for ABC, and then teaming up with Netflix to bring a grittier, more adult show with 2015’s Daredevil. Marvel’s movie universe tends to make use of the bigger and more mainstream characters, while the TV shows have focused on the lesser known Marvel properties such as Jessica Jones and Iron Fist.

Marvel has spent the better part of the last decade dominating the movie world, and has also been making great headway in the TV business along the way. As of now both worlds have remained mostly separate, with characters like Daredevil and Jessica Jones keeping far away from Iron Man and Captain America. However, given the scope of the comic book landscape, Marvel head Kevin Feige has said that the... Read More...

Even though the Marvel TV shows and the Marvel movies are set in the same universe, they've never really had full on crossovers. We've seen Sif and Nick Fury show up on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. but we've never really seen any of the TV characters show up in a Marvel movie. For the most part, it seems like the series and movies are trying to avoid each other.
As you know, Marvel has a ton of new series to add to their current line of shows that include The Defenders, Runaways, Cloak and Dagger, Runaways, New Warriors, and The Punisher. With all of these series in development, is there more of a chance that one day we will start to see all these characters collide with each other?

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck filed divorce petitions Thursday, the first step in formally ending their marriage more than a year after they publicly declared their relationship was over. The actors both filed divorce petitions in Los Angeles County Superior Court, citing irreconcilable differences and seeking joint custody of their three children, who range from 5 to 11.
The filings were made without attorneys and are virtually identical. Neither lists a date of separation. The couple announced they were separating in June 2015 after 10 years of marriage.
“We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children,” Garner and Affleck said in a joint statement at the time. “This will be our only comment on this private, family matter.” The actors met while making 2003’s “Daredevil,” in which they both played superheroes.

The DC Extended Universe continues to add more movies to its slate, and one of the most intriguing prospects to join the big pile of in-development movies is Nightwing. An announcement was made recently that an impressive team was working on the project, which sent the internet into pure fan mode, with dream casting lists popping up all over the shop.
Since then, rumours have surfaced that Warner Bros and DC want to get something in front of cameras by the end of this year. Perhaps Nightwing will be put on this fast track, allowing Blüdhaven’s premier protector to swoop onto our screens speedily.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is already a massive place, full to the brim with characters, but ever since the news first broke that the studio would be collaborating with Netflix for a series of TV shows based on some of the brand’s street-level heroes, fans have hoped to see some kind of crossover take place. Unfortunately, Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige has repeatedly played down any plans for the likes of Daredevil or Luke Cage to one day suit up with The Avengers, and now, Anthony Mackie (Falcon) has also weighed in on the matter as well.
During a recent interview with Screen Geek, the actor was adamant that combining the characters from the big and small screens simply “wouldn’t work.”
Different universes, different worlds, different companies, different designs. Kevin Feige is very specific about how he wants the Marvel Universe to be seen in the film world.

When it was first announced that there would be an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. television show that followed Agent Coulson of Marvel movie fame, it seemed like it could open a can of worms. It was crazy enough that the movies would be interconnected, but the prospect of allowing both the films and TV shows to cross over seemed like a match made in heaven.
This idea expanded when the Netflix shows began running. Many fans imagined an Avengers: Infinity War Part 2 (as it was named at the time) where Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist rising above their street level origins and joining the fray against Thanos — not that they could make much of a dent in the fight, anyway. However, in the years since then, that idea seems to have faded. Marvel Studios has been separated from Marvel Entertainment as a whole, and the films seem to...

Ben Affleck revealed on Tuesday that he had completed treatment for alcoholism in order to be "the best father I can be," but his history with addiction goes back much further. Despite director David Leitch’s ties to Keanu Reeves, Atomic Blonde is no Lady John Wick. Cold War locales may radiate similar neon hues (Wick’s Russian bath house), but this espionage thrill-kicker is more about consequence then henchman disposal. Revenge is merely an underlying motivation, as government parties fight to keep a power struggle concrete while the Berlin wall crumbles down. Would a Wick/Blonde crossover be powerful enough to level cities? Undeniably. Let’s first appreciate what we have, though – Charlize Theron giving everyone in Atomic Blonde the fucking business.

A frequent topic within Lrm lately, which you've likely heard spill over onto the Los Fanboys Podcast (assuming you listen to it...which you should!!!!), is Ben Affleck's current career trajectory. We're all fans of his and I- in particular- have been very happy to see him return to the top of the mountain in the last seven years. I've been rooting for the guy since 1997 when Good Will Hunting came out and made him and Matt Damon household names. So no one was happier when he bounced back from being the butt of many a joke to suddenly being an artist that demands respect.
Remember, he started hot in 1997 and then, while Damon went for smaller, more intimate, character-driven movies, Affleck went big. He leapt from the indie darlings that brought him to prominence towards big-budget popcorn flicks like Armageddon, Pearl Harbor, Paycheck, and Daredevil. And when he...

Ever since Marvel announced that they’d be producing a series of Netflix TV shows that would be set in the same universe as their big screen adventures, fans have wondered when we’d see some kind of crossover. Many assumed that Avengers: Infinity War would be the movie that’d unite Earth’s Mightiest Heroes with the street-level vigilantes seen on Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, but alas, that wasn’t to be – and it’s actually looking more and more unlikely that it’s going to happen in the foreseeable future.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is one that started off with the greatest of ambitions: to create a living breathing world where superheroes could cross over into each others’ respective franchises. For the longest time, it seemed as though this world would be restricted to the big screen. However, with Coulson’s death in the first Avengers, and the subsequent creation of the ABC series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., things opened up pretty quickly.
Then Marvel shifted their focus to Netflix, creating a series of shows that take place at more of a street level. Set after the events of the first Avengers, these series would also be set in the same universe. However, as time has gone on, it’s become more and more clear that there is very little chance the TV world and the film world will cross over in any meaningful way. Sure, the Netflix shows and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D....
