Actor Samuli Edelmann had never boxed before the film. After the three-week training period with Hannu Haapasalmi, he fell in love with the sport. During 1992 and 1993, Edelmann and Harri Piitulainen were part of the management team of the Finnish professional boxer Jyrki Vierelä.
