A Western movie involving a tragic love affair
This film will delight all fans of the classic Western genre. The landscapes are breathtaking, and the sets are authentic. Being released around the same time as Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven, this film adds to the revitalization of this wonderful genre known as the Western. Establishing camera angles that even Spielberg would be proud of, this film earns an A+ in cinematography. It is a huge disappointment that it was not nominated for an Oscar for this. Along with the excellent visual elements, the cast delivers an excellent performance. The daughter in the trio lacks the experience of the other two cast members, but the mother and the cowboy more than make up for her lack of acting experience.
