- TriviaOne of the running jokes of this series was Murphy Brown's inability to obtain a good secretary or one who could work well with her. During the show's first ten seasons, Murphy had a total of ninety-three secretaries. They were referred to by number in the closing credits cast list of each program, as "Secretary #1", "Secretary #2", et cetera. One that was very efficient was Marcia Wallace, playing her Carol Kester character from The Bob Newhart Show (1972). At the end of the show, Dr. Robert Hartley (Bob Newhart) showed up and pleaded for her to return, which she did. In one episode, Murphy discovered there was a support group for her former secretaries, where they comforted each other over their inability to keep the job.
- GoofsThere are two glaring problems with Murphy's house. First, when her front door is open, there are short bushes right in front but they don't exist in the exterior shots. Second, Murphy lives in a townhouse, however, there is a large window inside her house which shouldn't exist because the house next door would be attached to it.

I can't believe there are only so few comments on this unbelievably funny show! It must be that it ended too early before audiences remember to put their comments on IMDB. I heard many people commend ¡§Friends¡¨ or ¡§Mad About You,¡¨ but I find little fun when I actually watch these shows. ¡§Murphy Brown¡¨ is by far the most intelligent and hilarious series I¡¦ve ever watched, maybe the only sitcom ever interests me, because I generally prefer more serious shows such as ¡§Homicide: Life on the Street¡¨ or ¡§thirtysomething.¡¨ Murphy Brown has all the incredible cast. I especially prefer the interaction between the cranky Murphy and the panicky Miles. I¡¦m not sadistic, but I always roll to the floor every time Murphy torments Miles with her disastrous ideas. Like one IMDB user says, I really miss all of the characters. When can they make a show like this?
