Michael Norell was a staff writer on the Aaron Spelling and Douglas S. Cramer produced ABC series hit The Love Boat (1977) from 1977-1979, In 1981, Michael Norell helped develop Aaron Spelling's mid-season network program replacement series, a spin-off of The Love Boat (1977) scenario, for ABC, titled "Aloha Paradise" (eight broadcast episodes). Norell's show credit as producing this show, included writing scripts with his writing colleague Alan Foster Friedman. Norell had worked with Friedman in New York City when he was performing as an actor on the Broadway circuit stage boards. Norell and Friedman shared writing credits as staff writers on this show.
