Deaddash: "Like many struggling actors in Hollywood, Sean makes ends meet by spending his nights driving for a popular food delivery app. After receiving a phone call from his roommate, Sean decides to end his night with one final delivery from a local burger joint, where he is informed by the creepy, but seemingly harmless cashier that his customer has requested he drop the food off inside the house. Brushing this ominous exchange off, Sean arrives at the customer’s house in the Hollywood Hills, where he quickly realizes he’s stumbled right into a trap, and that this delivery may very well be his last."

No Doubt reunited for the first time in almost a decade at Coachella on Saturday night. The ska legends performed a 16-song set that included a surprise appearance from Olivia Rodrigo and a cover of Madness’ “One Step Beyond.”
Rodrgio, who recently declared No Doubt’s Gwen Stefani “the prime example” of a “true artist,” joined the band for “Bathwater.”
Elsewhere in the set, No Doubt performed hits like “Hella Good,” “Don’t Speak,” “Spiderwebs,” and “Just a Girl,” plus their covers of Madness’ “One Step Beyond” and Talk Talk’s “It’s My Life.” Stefani also dedicated a performance of “Simple Kind Of Life” to her ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale.
Watch videos of the performance and check out the full setlist below.
No Doubt first announced their reunion this past January, with their Coachella booking being revealed later that same day. Their booking makes sense, considering Coachella’s affinity for reunions.

Backed by a mighty brass ensemble, the Orange County heroes opened promptly at 9:25pm with their 2001 electro-rock hit “Hella Good.

Norman Lloyd, the Emmy-nominated veteran actor, producer and director whose career ranged from Orson Welles’ Mercury Theatre, Alfred Hitchcock’s Saboteur and acting with Charlie Chaplin in Limelight to St. Elsewhere, Dead Poets Society and The Practice, died May 10 in his sleep at his Los Angeles home. He was 106. A family friend confirmed the news to Deadline.
During one of the famous Lloyd birthday celebrations, Karl Malden said, “Norman Lloyd is the history of our business.”
Blessed with a commanding voice, Lloyd’s acting career dates back to Orson Welles’ Mercury Theatre troupe, of which he was the last surviving member. He was part of its first production — 1937 a modern-dress adaptation of Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar on Broadway titled Caesar.
He originally was cast in Welles’ epic Citizen Kane and accompanied the director to Hollywood. When the filmmaker ran into his proverbial budget problems, Lloyd quit the project and returned to New York,...

Only a few days short of January’s end, 2021 has seen the loss of its first Oscar winner. Here’s how the Associated Press broke the news:
Cloris Leachman, an Oscar-winner for her portrayal of a lonely housewife in “The Last Picture Show” and a comedic delight as the fearsome Frau Blücher in “Young Frankenstein” and self-absorbed neighbor Phyllis on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” has died. She was 94.
Leachman died in her sleep of natural causes at her home in Encinitas, California, publicist Monique Moss said Wednesday. Her daughter Dinah Englund was at her side, Moss said.
Remarkably those 94 years encompassed nine decades of work on the big and small(er) screen. A truly versatile actress, her knack for comedy wasn’t really showcased until nearly twenty years into her astounding career. As a tribute we offer a fond look back at the work of a true cinema “scene-stealer...

Like many of the post-punk U.K. ska bands, The Specials were serious fans of the late Cecil Bustamente Campbell, aka Prince Buster, one of Jamaican music’s godfathers. They covered his “Too Hot” on their debut, “Enjoy Yourself” on their follow-up; their cohorts Madness made his “One Step Beyond” their signature. Now, the Specials have overhauled Prince Buster’s mid-Sixties spoken word single “Ten Commandments of Man.” A battle-of-the-sexes routine, the original addresses a woman as if she were property, instructing that she obey him “In my every whim...

Being a popular TV star can be a double edged antennae; great, steady income and national (sometimes international) fame. But the downside is you can become so popular that as a performer, what you’re known for is all you become known for, and it can be difficult to step beyond people’s perception. Such is the case with Elizabeth Montgomery, as the Bewitched actress took on the somber lead role in The Victim (1972), an entertaining little mystery that showed a welcome serious side to the star.
Originally broadcast on Tuesday, November 14th as an ABC Tuesday Movie of the Week, The Victim would have to go up against Hawaii Five-o and NBC’s own movie night; and while Jack Lord always won out, ABC had the particular market cornered for mystery and horror with The Victim being a fine addition to their roster.

Wow — somebody took their sweet time about it, but we finally have a quality Blu-ray set of an entire generation’s favorite Sci-fi / monster TV show, an attraction that lit up our humdrum lives with anticipation in the Fall of ’63. Respected stars and good writers contributed to a weird-oh winner that can boast at least fifteen classic hours of Sci-fi delight, in velvety black and white. With informative new audio commentaries.

Kl Studio Classics
1963-64 / B&W / 1:33 flat full frame / 1632 min. (32 episodes) / Street Date March 27, 2018 / available through Kino Lorber / 99.95

Talk about a release that should need no introduction: when MGM Home Video released its first DVD sets of Outer Limits sixteen years ago, we saw the pale transfers and the feeble encoding (eight hours per disc!) and immediately wished for a reissue. Syndicated TV broadcasts looked better.

In this wild and wacky season of Archer Vice, Isis matriarch, Malory (Jessica Walter) has endured her role as the plot pusher, but she’s also taken more of a supportive role this season. That doesn’t mean she hasn’t had her set of conflicts to deal with. She is desperately trying to find a way to make money off of the shit-ton of cocaine they have stashed in the Tunt Manor, but it’s dwindling because Pam (Amber Nash) keeps eating it. Now she has been forced her to milk what she can of Cheryl’s (Judy Greer) talents singing country songs as her latest alter ego, Cherlene.
If that’s not enough, Malory has also been dumped by her husband, Ron Cadillac (played by Walter’s real life husband, Ron Leibman), is reminding Lana (Aisha Tyler) of the mistake she has growing in her belly and for...

Madness have been honoured by Poland with medals of gratitude. The English ska band were thanked for going 'One Step Beyond' in Poland during the 1980s, when they donated their gig fees to help the Solidarity Campaign Movement. After picking up their Medals of Gratitude, the musicians attended a ceremony on Monday (December 17) at the Polish Embassy in London where they were handed Medals of Gratitude from the European Solidarity Centre by Polish Ambassador (more)...

Anybody living in or around Montreal knows that La Belle Province’s metropolis is a fantastic place to be a film lover, especially for horror films. Now the obvious reason why this would be the case is the Fantasia International Film Festival, which had its 16th edition run this past July and August. Yet another, perhaps lesser know (but certainly growing) venue for Montreal horror film buffs to satisfy their cravings is the Miskatonic Institute of Horror Studies, a unique experience if there ever was one.
The fine folks at Miskatonic have, in essence, set up a non-profit ‘school’ of sorts where an actual curriculum is set up for which films lovers and hopeful filmmakers can sign up for courses which last from September to April of the following year. Among the speakers are established writers, filmmakers and curators who provide bountiful insight, intelligent critical analysis and commentary on the...

The word just reached us that a true legend passed away earlier this week, and we're saddened to pass on the news that actor Warren Stevens, who appeared in Forbidden Planet as well as numerous TV shows, died in Sherman Oaks, California, on Tuesday, March 27th at age 92.
Stevens, who suffered from lung disease, also acted in "The Twilight Zone" in both 1962 and 1986, "The Outer Limits", "One Step Beyond", and "Alfred Hitchcock Present", among many other films and TV series.
Born in Clark's Summit, Pennsylvania, Stevens attended the Naval Academy but left before graduating due to problems with his vision, though he later served as a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. He developed his interest in acting while at Annapolis and did summer stock before entering the service during the war. After WWII he returned to summer stock, worked in radio, and joined the Actors Studio in New York.

Brainchild of Huran Demiraslan (guitarist and keyboard player for French death metallers Trepalium) and Florent Marcadet (drummer for experimental psyche metallers Klone). Initially spawned out of the pair’s mutual appreciation of Meshuggah, jazz, funk, African rhythms and experimentation within the limits of rock and metal, the two would go on to jam with each other for a number of years before in 2009 deciding to take this jam project and make a band around its ideas.
Step In Fluid was born, picking up the remaining members of mutual friends and fellow experimenters throughout the year before the project began to fully take form with the help of producer Fabien Guilloteau. The culmination of all this work being their debut album One Step Beyond, which sees itself getting its worldwide release this week.

December 15th, 2011, 10:30Am– Rupert Grint makes sure to spread some Christmas joy in the name of charity. Earlier today, Rupert Grint and his friend, Harry Potter co-star, Tom Felton attended The Friends Christmas Party at the children’s hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, UK. They spent the morning with young fans and had pictures taken with them. Earlier today, Tom Felton wrote the following on his Twitter profile: “Beautiful day in London! May even get to see my special ginger friend x” The Friends Christmas Party does sound like a lovely and touching event. On the Great Ormon Street Hospital‘s website, it is described like a heart-warming event: Every child will have the chance to meet Santa, give him their Christmas wish list, and take home special early Christmas treats and a gift. As always, there will be a very special Christmas party for 1,500 patients and their families.

Nike didn't wait until 2015 to make their "Back to the Future Part II"-inspired Nike Mags available, instead opting to put their kicks on the eBay auction block last week. That's all well and good, and with any luck the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research will rake in a pile of helpful cash because of them.
The real-world Mags don't do everything that they were designed to do in the 1989 film, however, and Robert Zemeckis' one-of-a-kind trilogy introduced many other marvels of engineering and design that we would gladly drive our DeLoreans down to the mall to pick up. Here are five such technologies that are as of now still unavailable.
Power Laces
Anyone with chronically crunched heels on their sneakers knows the one key feature separating Nike's new shoes from the shoes that Marty McFly actually put on in "Back to the Future Part II"--power laces.

It seems new X Factor judge Tulisa may have a short temper since the Daily Mirror reports today that she “flipped” during auditions in London yesterday and yelled at a member of the audience.
22 year old Tulisa was apparently offering her opinion on girlband wannabes One Step Beyond, when a member of the audience told her to “shut up”.
Tulisa immediately snapped back, “No, you shut up!”
The paper adds, “Fellow judge Kelly Rowland tried to calm her down but Tulisa raged: ‘You don’t talk to people like that. It’s unnecessary.’

The ghosts sure are restless in the latest trailer for Raffaele Dibacco and Kevin Dibacco's indie fear flick, Back to the Beyond, and we've got all the details you need right here to help you with those nasty things that go bump in the night.
Written by Raffaele and directed by Kevin, Back to the Beyond stars Jennifer Gjulameti, Bill Potter, James Donnelly, Cate Carson, and Bill McLean.
The flick is said to be a modern adaptation of the 1950's TV series "One Step Beyond". Not much else about it is available at press time, but the trailer pretty much speaks for itself.
Look for it this summer.

Interviewed by Jessie Lilley
And just what is a “Renaissance Man” anyway? No, I’m not referring to the Voyager episode and I’m also not talking about the Penny Marshall film. In this context, the term Renaissance Man is defined as a person who excels at many different endeavors: the guy can do a lot of stuff and he does it all quite well. Such a one is the subject of this interview.
Larry Blamire first came across my radar when he and I were both living in Hollywood. I was at a private screening in the home of a friend of mine and he rolled a film called The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra. I was transfixed. What a delightful way to spend some time; laughing yourself silly. I immediately found a way to contact this man as I wanted to know what makes him tick.

With a gory and Gothic opening Lucio Fulci thrusts us straight into a world in which chains tear at flesh in the most grisly ways possible and the most effective way of finally finishing off a man you’re torturing and murdering is with a semi-crucifixion and a lot of acid to the face. This is The Beyond and if you find those first few minutes hard to stomach then you’re probably not prepared for the gruesome tale that Fulci unfolds in graphic detail on screen.
Aside from setting the tone and providing an opening that somewhat explains the supernatural curse at the heart of The Beyond this preface also plays out a little like a bridge between the classic Gothic film tradition and the lurid strain of horror that Fulci was a something of a master in. Never perhaps considered quite as artistically interesting as his Italian contemporaries...

I announced this here a while ago, but the news just became more official. Arrow Video have posted the Rick Melton's custom cover art and specs for their world exclusive Blu-ray presentation of The Beyond. In my opinion, this film is Lucio Fulci's masterpiece, and while some argument can be made for Zombie Aka Zombi 2 Aka Zombie Flesh Eaters, I think this one trumps it easily. This new edition is due for release on Valentine's Day, February 14th, 2011, and would make a lovely gift! Check out the awesome specs and great custom cover art! This Amazing Edition Contains:
- 4 option reversible sleeve with original and newly commissioned artwork
- Double-sided fold-out poster
- Collector's booklet featuring an introduction to the film by Eli Roth, director of 'Cabin Fever', 'Hostel' and 'Hostel Part II', 'Beyond Bombast' and an interview with Al Cliver by author...

Finally, one of the box-sets we’ve all been waiting for! The Alien franchise is one of those series that’s perfect for Blu-Ray. It is a benchmark for the format and you can check out our full review of The Alien Anthology below.
Alien:
How much can one say about the timeless classic sci-fi horror film that hasn’t been said before? Well, very little. This is still Ridley Scott‘s finest film to date and it hasn’t aged a bit. Every beat of tension still lands with a punch, the alien is still one of the best ever to be put on-screen, and it’s atmosphere stays eerie and unsettling throughout.
Alien is the king of the monster movies. Very few horror films can achieve the level of investment Scott and co. did with making you actually care for the ensemble, even outside of Ripley. What...

Let’s level with each other: you’ve already seen all of the (or at least the first two) Alien films, and have formed an opinion roughly in alignment with the rest of society that the first two in the series are excellent, but that the latter two were largely ruined by a combination of repetitiveness and studio interference. You probably already have the Alien Quadrilogy, and have ample resources to find out what new supplemental materials are featured on this release (and they are legion). But as much as anything, you don’t need me to tell you what each of these films is about, what characters appear in any of them, and why you should go out of your way to see any of them. The Alien franchise is established in a way that few are, with its rules, aesthetic, and central themes renowned to those who have...
