I've watched most of the available episodes of "I Married Joan" and even though I liked Joan Davis, I find many of the episodes rather mediocre. Talented actors weren't lacking on this series, but the writing is pretty banal. Joan was very funny, very attractive and quite charming and I feel the real reason this series never in the same league as "I Love Lucy" was the writing! To me it's an "almost" classic. Is it worth checking out? Definitely. But keep your expectations low and you might really enjoy some of the episodes. Her physical comedy is amazing. I am being very generous in my rating of 7/10 primarily because Joan was undoubtedly talented, and better writers could only have helped this series. But as a comedy series 5 or 6/10 is probably more accurate.
