In August 2014, fans the world over were rocked by Robin Williams' death, and the comedy icon's final film is now on its way to hitting screens across America.
The sci-fi comedy, Absolutely Anything, features Williams as the voice of a talking dog named Dennis. The story follows Simon Pegg as a random earthling who is given unlimited powers to shape the universe as he sees fit by a group of eccentric extra-terrestrials -- and one of the first things he does is bestow the power of human speech on his pet dog.
The film, which premiered in the United Kingdom in August 2015, is coming to American theaters on May 12.

"A Merry Friggin' Christmas" is a quaint yuletide comedy about a dysfunctional family, but it's accidentally become a historic movie since it's one of the last projects Robin Williams ever filmed. Stars Joel McHale and Lauren Graham, who play a couple hitting a tough patch in their marriage, said that working with Williams gave valuable perspective into his comedy. "I wouldn't have been surprised if he were very animated most of the time," Graham told us. "Like many comic actors I've known, actually, he was on the other side. He was thoughtful and introspective and had good ideas and was smart. But he wasn't always performing like you've seen him." "He was just a really normal dude and super smart. He laughed a lot," McHale said. It's that thing where people say, 'Don't meet your heroes! You'll be disappointed!' It was the opposite." We sat down with McHale and Graham to discuss Williams' intelligence,...

"Why are there shotgun pellets in my chicken?" What answer could there be other than, "Because it's squirrel." That is the exact answer given from a father to his adult son in the trailer for the new movie, "A Merry Friggin' Christmas." From the trailer, the film appears to fit squarely into the subgenre of holiday movies of comedies surrounding families (biological or not) who don't get along (generally, but not always because at least one of them is a bad person). It is the tale of a man, Boyd (McHale), who his forced to spend Christmas with his dysfunctional family only to learn that he kind of forgot his son's gifts at his house and has to make a mad dash with his father (Williams...

Robin Williams may no longer be with us, but he has a few completed films left that will give audiences a last taste of his immense talents. For better or worse, one of them is the upcoming wacky holiday movie "A Merry Friggin' Christmas," and the first trailer is here. As the title suggests, this isn't your average, wholesome entry into the Christmas drama. Instead, the movie rounds up Joel McHale, Clark Duke, Oliver Platt, Candice Bergen and Lauren Graham for a comedy about a man who has to team up with his estranged father for a road trip through a blizzard to get the Christmas presents for the son he's forgotten at home. So lots of cranky laughs are in order, and various hijinks, we suppose. "A Merry Friggin' Christmas" opens on November 7th.

What will happen to Robin Williams' unreleased films?
When Robin Williams was found dead on August 11, he left behind an amazing library of films, but he also had several projects in the works that audiences have yet to see.

The most visible would likely be the sequel to 1993 hit Mrs. Doubtfire, which hadn't begun filming. It's hard to imagine anyone filling Robin's shoes in that role, and Variety indeed reports that the sequel is unlikely to go forward, though screenwriter David Berenbaum reportedly met recently with Williams to go over the script.
Williams also had several projects in the can, with Night at the Museum: Secrets of the Tomb, set to be released December 19, and Merry Friggin' Christmas scheduled to arrive November 7.

Had he been allowed to form a relationship with another man, he would have been the best husband ever and might still be alive. It's been a few years since a truly memorable Christmas movie hit theaters. (I'd argue 2003's Elf was the last great one.) There have been a few comedies mixed in recently - Harold & Kumar's third adventure comes to mind - but it's tough to make a modern Christmas film that works. That's not stopping more filmmakers from trying though, and there's a new project on the horizon that sounds pretty promising. It's called A Friggin' Christmas Miracle, and it stars Robin Williams and Joel McHale as father and son. Plus, The Wrap reports Tim Heidecker (of Tim & Eric's Billion Dollar Movie) and others have also signed on. The story, written by Wreck-It Ralph screenwriter Phil Johnston, follows a family man named Boyd (Joel McHale) who takes his wife (Lauren Graham) and son (Looper star Pierce Gagnon) to visit his family for Christmas. When they arrive, he realizes he's left his son's presents at home,...

Joel McHale, Lauren Graham, and Robin Williams are set to star in the dysfunctional holiday comedy A Friggin' Christmas Miracle. Prolific television helmer Tristram Shapeero, whose credits include Community, Parks and Recreation, and Veep, is attached to direct Friggin' Christmas as his feature debut. Production is set to begin in late March in Atlanta.
Written by Wreck-It Ralph scribe Phil Johnston, the story follows Boyd Mitchler (McHale) and his wifeLuann (Lauren Graham) as they spend a dreaded Christmas with Boyd’s father Mitch (Williams) and his family of misfits. Upon realizing that he has left all of his son’s gifts at home, Boyd hits the road with his father and younger brother in an attempt to make the eight-hour round trip before sunrise.
This actually sounds like a great story and the talent is all there. Let's just hope they can do better than Billy Crystals Parental Guidance.

It hurts to say it, but last night was the beginning of the end for Community fans. The beloved but ratings-lacking show premiered the first episode of what looks to be its fourth and final season. But while it will hurt to say goodbye to such an amazing bit of television, we can all take solace in the fact that everyone involved with the series is more than talented enough to find more work. Take, for example, star Joel McHale, who has just landed a starring role in a new feature comedy. The Hollywood Reporter has learned that McHale, Lauren Graham and Robin Williams have all signed on to star A Friggin' Christmas Miracle, a new holiday-themed comedy from Wreck-It Ralph scribe Phil Johnston. The project actually has multiple Community ties beyond the actor, as Tristram Shapeero, who also happened to direct last night's premiere, will be making his feature...
