In August 2014, fans the world over were rocked by Robin Williams' death, and the comedy icon's final film is now on its way to hitting screens across America.

The sci-fi comedy, Absolutely Anything, features Williams as the voice of a talking dog named Dennis. The story follows Simon Pegg as a random earthling who is given unlimited powers to shape the universe as he sees fit by a group of eccentric extra-terrestrials -- and one of the first things he does is bestow the power of human speech on his pet dog.

The film, which premiered in the United Kingdom in August 2015, is coming to American theaters on May 12.

A Merry Friggin' Christmas sees Mitch (Williams) trying to bond with his son Boyd (Joel McHale) over the Christmas holidays when he and his family visit.

The pair then take to the road when Boyd realises he has left all of his son's gifts at home, and father and son try to pick them up and get back in time for Christmas morning.

Williams died in August after a battle with depression and having recently been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

The film is directed by British TV director Tristram Shapeero from a script penned by Michael Brown.

When Robin Williams was found dead on August 11, he left behind an amazing library of films, but he also had several projects in the works that audiences have yet to see.

The most visible would likely be the sequel to 1993 hit Mrs. Doubtfire, which hadn't begun filming. It's hard to imagine anyone filling Robin's shoes in that role, and Variety indeed reports that the sequel is unlikely to go forward, though screenwriter David Berenbaum reportedly met recently with Williams to go over the script.

Williams also had several projects in the can, with Night at the Museum: Secrets of the Tomb, set to be released December 19, and Merry Friggin' Christmas scheduled to arrive November 7.

The Community star has entered final negotiations for Screen Gems' supernatural thriller, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Sean Harris (Prometheus, The Borgias) is also in line to join the cast.
