This series was loosely based on Victor Hugo's novel "Les Miserables". The writer of this episode, Stanford Whitmore, has said that he chose the surname "Gerard" for Kimble's pursuer because it sounded similar to "Javert," who pursues Jean Valjean in "Les Miserables".
In the first season, the "Wanted" poster has Kimble's birth place as Beloit, Wisconsin. Later in the series it is changed to Stafford, Indiana.
In the fight scene between David Janssen and Brian Keith, Keith bruised Janssen ribs when he threw him against the bus.
Dabbs Greer, who plays Sgt. Fairfield, is making his first of six appearances in the series, each time in a different role.
This is the first of five appearances Harry Townes makes in the series, each time playing a different role.
