As a "crazy old man" (in the words of Owen Lars) once put it, the truths that we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view. If you're the type of "Star Wars" fan who engages with each and every corner of the franchise, you've likely been a bit overwhelmed by the sheer abundance of new titles set in a galaxy far, far away since 2019. On the other hand, if the movies are the only part of "Star Wars" you engage with, you've probably been tapping your foot impatiently in the five years since Sheev Palpatine somehow returned and was once again defeated, bringing the Skywalker Saga to a close. It's a far cry from what Disney promised when it announced plans to unveil a new "Star Wars" film every year back in 2015.
The absence of "Star Wars" on the big screen certainly isn't for lack of trying.

Not many Jedi's impact can be seen as influencing Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker, or Kanan Jarrus. However, there is one Jedi master who impacted each of these characters in different ways: Luminara Unduli. She has been seen throughout the franchise and is one of the unsung heroes of the Jedi Order.
Her first introduction was in Attack of the Clones when she joined the legion of Jedi at the Battle of Geonosis. She was seen throughout the run of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, including in the Season 1 episode "Cloak of Darkness." Throughout the episode, she taught Ahsoka valuable lessons in discipline and patience but also realized how smart Ahsoka was and what the padawan could become.
Later, Luminara was heavily featured in the Geonosis arc in Season 2 of the series. She worked with Anakin, Ahsoka, and her own padawan, Barriss Offee, to bring down the Geonosisian leader, Poggle the Lesser,...

When it comes to iconic franchises from the 1980s, few can rival Star Wars and Indiana Jones. While Star Wars technically began in the 1970s, its popularity surged during the ’80s alongside Indiana Jones, which debuted in 1981. Despite their seemingly different worlds, both franchises captivated global audiences and continue to thrive.
One obvious link between the two is Harrison Ford, who starred in both. But there’s another, deeper connection: the friendship between Star Wars creator George Lucas and Indiana Jones director Steven Spielberg. Lucas not only pitched the idea of Indiana Jones to Spielberg but collaborated closely on both projects, creating a shared creative vision between the franchises.
Now, a fascinating theory suggests an even closer relationship: that Star Wars and Indiana Jones might actually exist in the same universe.
According to this theory, Indiana Jones takes place in the present-day version of the Star Wars galaxy, hinting at...

The Clones of the Grand Army of the Republic, who were largely in the background in the Prequels, got to be front and center in Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series. Lauded as one of the best installments in the Star Wars franchise, the show delved into some pretty dark themes for a show that was primarily aimed at children.
Carnage of Krell || Star Wars: The Clone Wars
One of the more menacing characters in the story was Jedi Master Pong Krell, a character that the fandom has come to collectively hate as much as Harry Potter fans hate Dolores Umbridge. The character’s evil and duplicity come to fruition at the end of the 4-part story that he is introduced in, which sees Anakin relinquish the control of his army to another Jedi master, who has a lot more going on than he initially lets on.

With Star Wars Rebels turning ten this year, we've had a decade's worth of stellar performances from Lucasfilm Animation. From the return of The Clone Wars to the newest outing from the Lego Star Wars miniseries Rebuild the Galaxy, let's dive into which voice actors brought out the best performances.
My picks are based on the entire run of a show, season, or miniseries. A guest spot on a single episode won't count. The only exception would be Star Wars: Visions being a series of shorts. Who gave a solid performance from the beginning to the end of their respective show.
In no particular order, here are the 16 best performances from Lucasfilm Animation in the last 10 years.

In the name of the Galactic Senate of the Republic, Mace Windu is still alive, Chancellor. Or so says Samuel L. Jackson, who says it’s going to take a lot more than what we saw in Revenge of the Sith to put an end to Mace Windu. Now that’s the confidence of a man with a purple lightsaber!
As we remember, Mace Windu was seen in 2005’s Revenge of the Sith in a showdown with Palpatine. Windu disregards Anakin’s insistence that killing people was not part of the Jedi life, going for one final blow to Palpatine, only to be attacked by Anakin, followed by a final blow from Palpatine that sends him falling.
Appearing on The Tonight Show, Samuel L. Jackson said he has enough reason to believe that Mace Windu somehow survived his encounter. “There’s a history alone, history of one-armed, one-handed people in the Star Wars universe.

From the Dathomir witches to Luke's spine-chilling run-in with the wampa on Hoth, the Halloween spirit is alive in the Star Wars universe. Creature design has always been a high point of the franchise, making it the perfect way to celebrate as the holiday approaches.
Here are 7 creepy-crawly creatures from the galaxy far, far away.

Brain worms are creepy enough slithering around, but just wait until they inflect someone. With the capacity to control the actions of anyone they infect, these parasites turn friends into enemies...and zombies! They also have the unsettling habit of popping out of the mouths of their victims as they attack a new host. These creepy creatures are what make The Clone Wars episode "Brain Invaders" perfect to watch for Halloween!

Ashley Eckstein -- best known among Star Wars fans for acting as the original voice for Ahsoka Tano in several Lucasfilm animated series -- is teaming up with Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels executive producer Henry Gilroy on her upcoming untitled audio drama project.
According to Collider, Gilroy joins the project alongside both Eckstein (who will executive produce and star in the audio drama) and Jeff Gomez, who will co-produce.
First announced in 2023, this audio drama will be the first in a new Disney-Lucasfilm IP that will likely expand into other projects in the coming years.
Eckstein has led a versatile career thus far, launching her acting career in the early 2000s and landing her first major role as a voice actor in 2008. She has voiced Ahsoka Tano in multiple television series as well as several video games. She is also an author and the founder of Her Universe,...

In the past few years, Disney has gambled big on "Star Wars," releasing several new streaming shows within the "Star Wars" universe on their streaming service, Disney+. Unfortunately, the gamble hasn't totally worked for the franchise and the shows haven't been able to gather enough momentum for multiple seasons, with "The Acolyte" axed after just one season and "The Book of Boba Fett" and "Obi-Wan Kenobi" unlikely to ever see a season 2. "The Book of Boba Fett" was a little complicated because it tied in so deeply with "The Mandalorian," while "Obi-Wan Kenobi" was originally planned as a movie trilogy that was turned into a limited series, with no real plans for a season 2.
Despite the fact that it doesn't look like "Obi-Wan Kenobi" will get a second season and the show is officially done, series star and Obi-Wan himself Ewan McGregor would love to reprise the role and has...

In addition to the Marvel and Star Wars titles on Disney+, parents also have the newly added Hulu titles as well.
To say that Disney+ is a good streaming service for kids seems like a fairly obvious thing to point out. However, when you dive deeply into the streamer and its library, you get a sense of just how vast its array of programming is for all members of the entire family. Disney+ is a real winner for homes with children of every age, not only because of the volume and variety of kids’ titles available, but because of the number of shows and movies for parents to watch after they put the kiddos to bed.

Despite airing in 2022, Disney+ has yet to formally cancel its Obi-Wan Kenobi show, nor renew it for another season. The Star Wars series has spent two years in a sort of limbo. But star Ewan McGregor has always voiced his desire to continue the journey, and most recently, he revealed that Disney is indeed quietly exploring ideas for another installment.
While being interviewed on stage at L.A. Comic Con, McGregor was asked about the status of Obi-Wan Kenobi season 2. Thankfully, he wasn't as secretive as everyone expected him to be, saying Disney is "exploring" ideas for a potential sophomore season.
As for what he'd like a second season to entail, McGregor naturally wants more flashback scenes with Hayden Christensen's Anakin Skywalker. The first season had fan-service galore in that respect, bringing back both actors to play the parts that last occupied in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Of course,...

Leslye Headland's "Star Wars" series "The Acolyte" ran on Disney+ from June 4 to July 16, 2024, coming to an end after only eight episodes. The series, set a century before the events of "Star Wars: Episode I -- The Phantom Menace," told the story of Mae and Osha (both played by Amandla Stenberg), identical twins who were raised by a coven of Force witches on a distant plant, far away from the shenanigans of the Jedi. At this point in "Star Wars" history, the Jedi were a powerful police force throughout the galaxy, and hence, prone to mistakes and coverups. When several Jedi visit Mae and Osha's home, there is a series of misunderstandings that lead to the deaths of all the witches. The Jedi cover it up and go on their merry way.

Star Wars has teased fans with so many exciting projects ahead and with all these upcoming films and series, sometimes it is inevitable that one or two may take the backseat for a while due to unforeseen events. Just like what happened in 2008’s Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

The series was a raging success, but it was abruptly canceled despite its invaluable contribution to the saga’s prequel era. Fortunately, it was revived in 2018 because of fans’ unwavering support.

Disney originally canceled Star Wars: The Clone Wars in 2013 after five successful seasons for a simple reason: they wanted to pursue a new direction for animated programming. Katee Sackhoff played the voice of Bo-Katan Kryze for over a decade before taking on the role in live-action. In the past two years, no one has captured the American heart and imagination more than Caitlin Clark. The women's basketball player has transcended women's sports and given a much-needed boost to positivity in the country. This is similar to how Ahsoka Tano has also been a transcended character both on and off screen for the Star Wars galaxy.
Clark went through growing pains during her time in Iowa and at the Indiana Fever, but now, she is arguably one of the top five players in the WNBA. As for Ahsoka, the character who debuted in the 2008 film Star Wars: The Clone Wars, has allowed an audience to watch her grow up and become both a strong leader and a powerful Jedi.
Clark also brought out the best in teammate Lexie Hull, who had an amazing season. Hull's field goal percentage has increased by seven percent over last year.

We’re halfway through September, and while “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” has been the big winner of the month so far, we have a new potential fall blockbuster this weekend. Read on for Gold Derby’s box office preview.
Paramount Pictures has done quite well with Hasbro’s flagship Transformers toy line, to the tune of $5.3 billion worldwide, mostly thanks to the five movies directed by Michael Bay. Now, they’re returning to the animated realm that kicked the whole thing off in the ’80s with “Transformers One,” a prequel movie that explores the origins of the Autobots and Decepticons with Oscar-winning filmmaker Josh Cooley (“Toy Story 4”).
For this one, the filmmakers have put together a really impressive voice cast, including Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry, Scarlett Johansson, Jon Hamm, Keegan-Michael Key and Laurence Fishburne. Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures is an animated series suitable for very young audiences. You may have seen Yoda’s delightful green smirk on posters or in other advertisements, however he is actually not one of the main characters in the television series that airs on both Disney Jr. and Disney Plus. Younglings Kai, Lys, and Nubs are the primary protagonists.
The showrunner wisely took advantage of Yoda’s “star power”, which, in terms of drawing in viewers, is certainly an important factor with the success of the pre-schooler appropriate Disney/Lucasfilm collaboration. There was a similar design when Star Wars: The Clone Wars was produced 20 years ago (although other famous Jedi are also in that series), while Yoda’s ratio of actual appearances throughout the Clone Wars seasons are comparable to Young Jedi Adventures.

Released on August 30, 2024 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows, the game has been facing some severe criticism.

Introduced in The Phantom Menace as comic relief, many fans felt his humor was out of sync with the franchise’s more serious and epic tone, making him a polarizing figure. The backlash against Jar Jar was so intense that actor Ahmed Best faced relentless harassment from fans and, at one point, even contemplated suicide due to the abuse.
However, it’s not just Jar Jar Binks’ mannerisms and speech that rile us up. His role in Attack of the Clones—where he proposed granting emergency powers to Chancellor Palpatine, setting the stage for the rise of the Galactic Empire—adds to the ire. This pivotal moment has fueled a long-standing fan theory that Jar Jar is secretly a Sith Lord.
There are several intriguing arguments supporting the theory that Jar Jar Binks might be a Sith Lord.

Speaking of the most hated Star Wars characters, it’s hard not to associate the “honor” with Jar Jar Binks. Introduced in ‘The Phantom Menace’ as a comic relief character, many fans found Jar Jar’s humor to be out of place or overly childish, clashing with the more serious and epic tone they expected from the franchise overall.
The character was so hated, that the actor who voiced him – Ahmed Best, was harassed non-stop by fans and even contemplated suicide at some point, due to harassment.
But, his mannerism and the way he spoke is not the only reason why Binks’ name makes our blood boil. Jar Jar bears sole responsibility for a significant plot point: in ‘Attack of the Clones,’ he proposed granting emergency powers to Chancellor Palpatine, which eventually led to the rise of the Galactic Empire. Jennifer Hale has been a fumbling alien, a screaming six-year-old and a superhero who saves the world. The voice actor, whose work in animation and video games includes “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” “Baldur’s Gate,” “X-Men ’97” and countless more, is one of the most recognizable voices in video games.
Currently, the gaming industry is at a halt after SAG-AFTRA called a strike against the major video game publishers on July 25. George Lucas collaborated with Dave Filoni to craft Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The beloved animated series fills the gap between the second and third installments of the prequel trilogy. It also introduced Anakin Skywalker’s Jedi Padawan, Ahsoka Tano, who went on to become a fan-favorite and a major player in the overall lore of the galaxy far, far away.

The Clone Wars gave the Star Wars fandom a lot of characters that have become iconic in their own right. Be it Captain Rex, Ahsoka Tano, or Ventress, the show depicted a lot of characters in a variety of situations, covering the length and breadth of the war across the Galaxy, from the outer rim to the inner core.

While Anakin Skywalker was the main focus of the Prequels era, along with his master Obi-Wan Kenobi, there wasn’t a clear protagonist for The Clone Wars animated series, largely focusing on theatres of the war and the clones\ Jedi involved therein. The fandom at large, however, has narrowed down which character they might want to consider the ‘protagonist’ of The Clone Wars.

The Star Wars universe is filled with a vast variety of interesting characters, some more loved than others. However, most fans will agree that Jar Jar Binks from the prequel trilogy of movies is arguably one of the most disliked characters in the franchise, primarily because of his poor writing and general personality traits.

Din Djarin and Baby Yoda are returning to a galaxy far, far away.
At D23 in Anaheim on Friday, Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni unveiled a first look at the upcoming “Star Wars” feature, “The Mandalorian and Grogu,” starring Pedro Pascal as the titular masked bounty hunter from the Disney+ series and his adorable sidekick Grogu.
Favreau promised an “all-new adventure following these two characters.”
The D23 crowd cheered as Babu Frick popped up flying a small ship with Grogu and went wild as the purple alien said “good luck.”
The film is the first big screen spinoff from Disney+ series “The Mandalorian,” with Favreau, who created the show, set to direct the feature. The series takes place after the fall of the Galactic Empire in “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi,” where a lone mercenary (a Mandalorian from the planet Mandalore) makes his way through the outer reaches of the lawless galaxy.

In Gareth Edwards' 2016 film "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," a group of scrappy Rebels defy orders from their superiors to infiltrate an Imperial stronghold and steal the blueprints for the Empire's newest superweapon, a planet-killing, moon-sized laser called the Death Star. It's no surprise that they will be successful, as the plans they steal are put to good use in the 1977 film "Star Wars." Indeed, the events of "Rogue One" end at the exact moment "Star Wars" picks up, leaving nothing to the imagination. Sadly, the characters of "Rogue One" all die in their mission, a fact that all "Star Wars" fans kind of knew going in.
The villain of "Rogue One" is an Imperial weapons developer named Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn) who has overseen the design and construction of the Death Star. Like most of the Imperial characters throughout the "Star Wars" franchise, Krennic is stressed, angry, and unhappy.

Ironically enough, this stands true even without the iconic Darth Vader playing the villain of the saga. The major credit for this goes to Filoni’s outstandingly creative thought process that chose The Inquisitor over Vader to play the big bad of the series. The reason behind this was simple: Vader is too big of a character to worry about minute events like this one!

Dave Filoni made his first foray into the Star Wars universe, working on The Clone Wars animated series. The series was later canceled after Disney purchased Lucasfilm from George Lucas. It initially concluded in 2014, only to be revived almost four years later for a seventh and final season.

While promoting the final season, Filoni was asked about the future of the Clone Wars corner of the universe. At the time, Filoni shared his experience of working on the animated series and also revealed why he did not wish to revive it again in the future. Filoni made a compelling argument for the series to conclude and despite fans feeling otherwise it makes complete sense.

Dave Filoni might be a Star Wars veteran today, but he earned his stripes working alongside franchise creator George Lucas on Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series. Given Lucas’ limited involvement with the franchise after the prequels, Filoni was mostly responsible for the show’s writing.

Speaking with Den of the Geek, Filoni revealed that the book could have some very interesting information, and definitely includes a slew of ideas that were conceived even before Star Wars, and many of those that are yet to find their place in the galaxy far, far away.

This film was well received and beloved by fans, and while there has been an entire show covering what happens in the wake of it, Dave Filoni revealed in 2011 that there might be a chance that fans could get more of it, but only if George Lucas was up for it.
