►Species: Hakallo - Armadillo/Pangolin Hybrids

Coming from a militaristic society, one of their greatest virtues is their loyalty. The native inhabitants of [that place], they were united under the leadership of Saverns. [The King] showed them how to harness their latent magical potential and fight back against the invaders. Since then, their race has served as the shield and sword of Saverns. Some in service with the royal guard, others hired out as loyal retainers and body guards, the vast majority serving in the kingdom's army to protect the peace and fight back any that might harm their homeland.

►Features: They have the ability to turn their fingers into three deadly claws, able to rip through the hardest of armors. The Claws always colored the same as the unique tone of their fingertips.

►Physical traits: Aside from their natural scales, some of the Hakallo are known to have hair while others are not. Some have considered this as a sign of their purpose in life, others simply take it as a cosmetic variation. Those without hair, however, are usually burdened with being considered as having greater combat potential while those with hair are thought to have to work harder.

►Avg. Lifespan: 100 years. Physical maturity occurs at 20 years, at which time wisdom scales begin to appear around the unarmored parts of their body.

►Breeding: Within their own species, the Hakallo are known as a particularly productive species. However, due to their cast as guards and royal arms they may often wind up in inter species relationships which have a low chance of birth, or simply dedicate their lives purely to the weapon as an act of service.

►Physical capability: Though as physical strong as some of the inhabitants of Marnarth, the lack of resources in their society has led them to focus mainly on combat utilizing their natural claws.

►Magical capability: Being one of the newest races to embrace the potential for magic, as well as their idealization of physical prowess, the extent of their magical use has been limited to physical enhancement. Some study offensive enhancements, others focus more on defensive, while the majority have a number of skills to balance out both sides of their skill.
The strongest of defensive users are considered to be inexhaustible shields, capable of withstanding the most powerful of blows so long as their mana lasts.
The strongest of their offensive users have been known for feats of strength that are considered mythical, some even capable of extending the reach of their slashes for great ranges.
But it is in the balance of these two traits that the noblest of warriors find true acknowledgement and legendary status.

►Natural Vulnerabilities: Because of the weight of their natural scales they are heavier than most races. This makes it particularly difficult for them in water, and they must remain mindful on occasion of where they step.

Ok so I wanted a new species to serve as my guards in Saverns and then after brainstorming with and all day today these babies came to life.
