Thanks so much for commenting Brian, it’s so useful and interesting to get some more background information about onoff and pigpio. I really appreciate it.

Comment on Fading LEDs with PWM on all pins with Pi Zero & Node.js by Brian Cooke https://seblee.me/2016/02/fading-leds-with-pwm-on-a-raspberry-pi-zero-with-node-js/#comment-2800 Thu, 11 Feb 2016 20:43:55 +0000 http://sebly.co/?p=5156#comment-2800 Although some software is used by the pigpio module to control the PWM duty cycle it’s mostly harware that’s used, a combination of DMA and PWM hardware in this case. The details of how this is achieved can be found at https://github.com/richardghirst/PiBits/tree/master/ServoBlaster

onoff doesn’t support PWM because it was written to function on multiple platforms, for example, the Raspberry Pi or BeagleBone Black. These Linux platforms and many others follow the same conventions for accessing GPIO hardware. Unfortunately there doesn’t appear to be a common convention for accessing PWM hardware or at least the author of onoff (me :)) wasn’t able find such a convention if it does exist.

For me always interesting to see what everybody else did, when I have not seen them too often. All the best for 2016, Seb.

Comment on JavaScript HTML5 Canvas Snow in 3D by Nadia https://seblee.me/2010/11/javascript-html5-canvas-snow-in-3d/#comment-2204 Sat, 12 Dec 2015 11:35:59 +0000 http://sebleedelisle.com/?p=1512#comment-2204 Fixed, but with some limitation; For other users who want to use it on a similar site:

change:

container = document.createElement(‘div’);
document.body.appendChild(container);

…to…

container = document.createElement(‘div’);
container.style.position = ‘fixed’;
container.style.top = 0;
container.style.height = ‘100%’;
container.style.zIndex = 15000;
container.style.pointerEvents = “none”;

– pointerEvents lets the links work
– zIndex puts the snow over all the banners and site layers

Than I had to comment the mouse following effects:

//document.addEventListener( ‘mousemove’, onDocumentMouseMove, false );
//document.addEventListener( ‘touchstart’, onDocumentTouchStart, false );
//document.addEventListener( ‘touchmove’, onDocumentTouchMove, false );

Otherwise it will not work on mobile phones (can’t scroll the page)

Than chack the link to .js and img and fix it if needed (for prestashop “js/ThreeCanvas.js” becomes “/themes/themeName/js/ThreeCanvas.js” )

Hope could be useful. 🙂

Hi, thanks for the nice script.
I’m trying to place it on a prestashop site, but nothing happens: http://www.maipiusenza.com/ (the script is active).
Any idea?

Thanks
