Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀲𑀼- (su-), from Sanskrit सु- (su-), from Proto-Indo-Aryan *Hsu-, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *Hsu-, from Proto-Indo-European *h₁su-. Also borrowed from Sanskrit सु- (su-) in many cases.
