Colorado Locations

[edit]

After several years since their opening (of 2 locations, I think they were around for at least 10 years for their Aurora and 4 years for Westminster, though I don't recall their exact open dates) in Colorado I find it strange there seems no mention of these stores on their main website. Are these locations franchises? There seems 50 stores on their main page and does not mention the two in Colorado. Also their "history" webpage does not seem to indicate these two stores despite including 2015 store openings. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.55.54.40 (talk) 19:37, 8 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ungrammatical sentence

[edit]

This sentence does not make sense in the controversy section:

"In 2006, a civil suit was filed against H Mart for discrimination against whites when three tenants of the West Willow Shopping Mall that the company had moved into and then bought in Willowbrook, Canada."

It should be "BY three tenants," if that is the case. 2601:14F:4502:FB00:1DF4:D4D8:3431:DDAE (talk) 01:39, 3 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Name

[edit]

The website consistently writes the name as "Hmart", not "H Mart". Binarystep (talk) 02:25, 6 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

"arms full of groceries"?

[edit]

the hanja there for han ah reum means "korea-asia-dragon"; how on earth do u get to "arms full of groceries"?

most of us always assumed the H was for "han" (korea), and, indeed it is! so what's this phrase there, someone's idea of vandalism? 2601:19C:5280:5BA7:4DF4:52F2:436B:1751 (talk) 04:22, 3 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

From H Mart itself: "We are H Mart, short for "Han Ah Reum," which just happens to mean "One Arm Full of Groceries."" and The New York Times reports it as "an armful" WhisperToMe (talk) 03:42, 7 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

largest (asian) U.S.-based grocery chain?

[edit]

From the article:

H Mart is the largest U.S.-based grocery store chain that specializes in Asian-style products and caters to Asian-American shoppers

This needs a citation. As is it contradicts the claims made in the 99 Ranch Market article which, states the following:

99 Ranch Market has grown into the largest Asian supermarket chain in the United States

The 99 Ranch Market article does have a citation (albeit from 2019) whereas this article doesn't have any TerraFrost (talk) 04:40, 26 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
