homonym for .gov.ar
[edit].gob.ar is NOT and homonym of .gov.ar. See homonym. Homonyms are two words that are spelled and sound the same but have different meanings. Clearly, gob and gov aren't spelt the same way.
GOB is actually used as an acronym for "gobierno" (government is spanish). HuGo_87 (talk) 18:44, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Issue with cite 3 (use by Alternate Reality companies)
[edit]The citation to http://en.gandi.net/domain/ar/info doesn't support the claim "the extension has become synonymous with Augmented Reality and is being [used?] by many prominent AR and XR startups."
Can someone make a notification about this in the article, or point to the best way to do that? I'd like to check if anyone wants to update the claim and reference before removing the whole sentence.
FYI I checked the current site, and archived copies from May 2013 and July 2014 ( https://web.archive.org/web/20140729192019/http://en.gandi.net/domain/ar/info ). All versions only only give the requirements for registering under the .ar domain. It makes no claim about the popularity of the domain, or even give a reason why any company outside of Argentina would want to use it (let alone any specific mention of Artificial Reality).

- Update: I found a new source that actually mentions a couple AR startups using .ar domains, so I replaced the citation, and changed the sentence to be far less hyperbolic. AtomicSource (talk) 06:34, 20 August 2024 (UTC)
