New page reviewer

I have been a registered user on Wikipedia for several years, with over 500 undeleted mainspace edits. I possess a strong understanding of content policies and guidelines, supported by my experience in quality control processes. I have actively participated in deletion processes like AfD, PROD, and CSD, contributed to Articles for Creation, and written new articles. I maintain a solid track record of interacting civilly and constructively with other editors, especially newcomers. I have no active behavioral blocks or 3RR violations within the last 6 months, and I am committed to reviewing pages solely on a volunteer basis. Imad_J (talk) 13:26, 3 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

عماد الدين المقدسي, could you comment on your creation of Tyrone Smith (musician) in 2020? While old substandard articles are not automatically disqualifying for this permission, between the lack of extensive article creations since then (or even just edits on en.wiki in general since then), and the fact that the article has been repeatedly recreated and deleted via WP:A7, it does raise some concern. signed, Rosguill talk 18:56, 3 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I would like to request temporary NPR rights. After reviewing the criteria, I believe I meet the necessary requirements. Could you please confirm if I am eligible?

Thank you! EEverest 8848 (talk) 04:34, 4 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your interest in this permission. However, the recent deletion of National Cardiac Centre following Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/National Cardiac Centre means that you currently fall short of WP:NPPCRITERIA. Please continue to gain experience creating articles and participating at AfD before reapplying.  Not done for now. signed, Rosguill talk 13:29, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings! I am requesting an extension of my NPP trial or have it made permanent. I was previously given a one-month extension to demonstrate my AfD skills, and in the one-month trial prior to that, I demonstrated my Review and AfC skills. Unfortunately, I have been busy preparing for the Chinese Chemistry Olympiads Finals and have had little time to edit Wikipedia for the past month. Still, I have performed some AfD and have hopefully shown my knowledge in that area. The Finals will be over on November 1st, and I'd have plenty of time to do editing then, which is why I am making this request. Pygos (talk) 07:09, 5 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Pygos, could you comment on your decision to mark CEN/TC 264 as reviewed? signed, Rosguill talk 13:33, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I was unfamiliar with this area, so I looked at the past records of how things were done by consulting the List of CEN technical committees, like CEN/TC 10, CEN/TC 12, CEN/TC 165. In hindsight, I should have marked that it needs extra citations. Pygos (talk) 13:47, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also regarding your previous doubts of my creation of the article Median of the Trapezoid theorem, I consulted the similar article Midpoint theorem (triangle), which also has only two citations, so I deduced that it'd be the acceptable number of sources for mathematics articles for it to become notable. But again, it seems that it's not. Pygos (talk) 13:55, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please remember that notability is not about just counting the number of references, but also assessing the character and depth of the coverage they contain. In the case of the Median of the Trapezoid theorem, the cited sources do not discuss the theorem except in passing to give a definition of a trapezoid. To meet our notability standards, a theorem will have much more coverage than a simple definition statement: there will be extended paragraphs of coverage describing the history of the theorem's discovery, its relevance to other concepts, etc. (e.g. Pythagorean theorem). signed, Rosguill talk 14:02, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm going to extend your trial for another month, as that wasn't quite the answer I was looking for. If you search on Google Scholar, you'll find several examples of extensive independent coverage that do demonstrate the subject's notability. I agree that the page should have been tagged with a reference-related template ({{primary}} or {{third-party}} would be even more precise), but the reasoning you explain here is really an WP:OSE argument--while assessing similar articles can sometimes be useful when reviewing, it's not a very reliable way of judging notability. Done signed, Rosguill talk 13:54, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks very much for the trial extension! However, your inquiry about CEN/TC 264 and Median of the Trapezoid theorem is quite a while ago, and I have put up much effort to avoid WP:OSE, see my discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Stations#Train Station Notability Pygos (talk) 14:11, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, yes, as the CChO finals won't be over till November 1st and that the current trial only lasts till November 7th. And as I should reapply a week prior to expiration, I'm afraid I have no time at all to review pages. Pygos (talk) 14:54, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'll extend it for an extra month. signed, Rosguill talk 14:58, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. My 1 month NPP trial is set to expire in less than a week. I believe I have performed fairly well in working both redirects and articles. I've recently been working on initiating more AfDs. Requesting a review of my trial's expiration date for an extension or permanent status. Garsh (talk) 18:45, 5 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reason for requesting new page reviewer rights 79lives (talk) 11:20, 6 October 2024 (UTC) I just want to help review articles; I have tried going into WP:AFD and that has actually been really fun developing my knowledge on notability. But, going back on to the topic of being a New Page Reviewer would mean dedicating my time to try helping to alleviate he backlog and being able to sort out new articles whether they are an orphan or even need more citations.[reply]

Not done, while you have continued to participate at AfD, your comments there do not suggest that you have a strong understanding of relevant guidelines. As this is now your third unsuccessful request for this permission in as many months, I'd ask that you please stop applying for this permission for now, as it is clear that you would benefit from gaining further editing experience first. signed, Rosguill talk 13:44, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I try to become more active, and I'm familiar with the guidelines as well. I need permission to expand my contribution on Wikipedia. Vikingsam (talk) 21:28, 6 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done, you do not meet the minimum prerequisites and your request statement here does not suggest that you fully understand what this permission is for. signed, Rosguill talk 13:46, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

To review new pages on for the wikipedia main space-- Declining articles that don't represent our goals on this project. Gonzafer001 (talk) 09:18, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The recent edit warring block (less than two weeks ago) is unfortunately automatically disqualifying.  Not done and please read the permission prerequisite criteria more carefully. signed, Rosguill talk 13:48, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I am requesting trial for New Page Reviewer rights as I have made many significant edits to main pages on Wikipedia. I am familiar with Wikipedia’s guidelines and policies and have experience in assessing the quality of new articles. With my background in content creation and editing, I believe I can contribute effectively to the review process and help maintain the quality of newly created pages.

A trial would allow me to demonstrate my ability to effectively contribute to the review process and ensure that new pages meet the required standards.

Not done, you don't appear to have followed the advice given following the last declined request, and your article contributions since then unfortunately do not demonstrate a strong understanding of the relevant guidelines. signed, Rosguill talk 13:50, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, @Rosguill
