Jafaria Disaster Management Cell (JDC) is a Welfare and Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) commonly known as JDC Welfare Org.[1][2] JDC was established in 2009 by a number of students, its volunteers comprised of members irrespective of their beliefs and political or social background.[3] JDC rehabilitation activities and medical emergency services cover all areas of Pakistan with its policy that where there is a victim of any disaster he/she should be helped simply on humanitarian aspect without discrimination.
In a year, besides its volunteers, departmental head[4][5] and president at least two JDC-Ambulance drivers[6][7][8] have lost their lives in targeted killing.
In 2014 JDC Welfare Org. in collaboration with Pakistan Red Crescent Society provided medical aid to some 300 mourners with doctors, paramedical staff and volunteers during a two-day medical camp organized in connection with Ashura at Numaish Chowrangi Karachi.
