caseman (plural casemen)

  1. (slang) A person who examines a building to determine whether it is worth burgling.
    • 2014, John Creasey, Policeman's Dread:
      Green was a caseman for several of the 'Big Boys'. He visited house after house in residential sections of London's suburbs, checking the quality of furniture, decor, and general prosperity, and then advising the 'Big Boys' whether they were worth a visit.
